Unleash the power of Ancient Greece with the Athena Power 400W PSU. It puts out 400W maximum power - just what you need for all your components. Athena includes backwards capability which allows it to be used with older motherboards, like the ATX V2.2. This PSU also includes a PCI Express 6-PIN connector for VGA card use.  The Micro SFX includes dual fans for a cooler computer with reduced noise and ripple features.

  • newegg The Micro SFX Design Micro SFX power supplies are known mostly as a replacement power supply. But now, they have evolved to be used for mini-ATX cases, custom built computers, mini-servers and more. With the increase of wattage and efficiency, the micro SFX is a conventional PSU that can be used for multiple purposes.
  • newegg Designed for custom built PCs, mini-servers, and HTPCs The APOLLO 400Watt power supply will support the most current ATX motherboards V2.2 and lower. Its PCI-E 6-pin connector supports an additional VGA card. This PSU is ideal for custom-built PCs, mini-servers and HTPCs.
  • newegg Dual Fan With its dual fans located at the front and back of the power supply, the rear fan takes in the heat produced inside the server or system and pushes it through the front fan, which is positioned towards the exit points of the server/system, keeping the motherboard and hard drives cool. This design allows the power supply to take 100% of the heat generated by the interior system and push it out of the server/system. While some other PSU fans work differently, this dual-fan set-up is designed to maintain a reliable source of power, keeping the system cool. Some may second guess this dual fan feature for fear it will increase noise volumes; however, with its thermal fan speed control, it will automatically detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly - reducing overall noise.

5 out of 5 eggsFingers crossed still running

Pros: just enough connections for a media center, low price, fits my case

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Quieter then previous my PSU that came with cheap case TOPOWER TP-1687BB-300 I got for $20 free shipping. I was a little nervous to get due to some negative reviews of their issues. You can still hear the fan but it is low and can not hear the fan across the room or over movies playing. Running E8400 intel DG45ID motherboard with 6gb ram and a nivia gt 640 video card. I was running 8gb ram but intel q45 boards has issues with certain ram occupying all 4 slots no matter what power supply I tried and kept crashing. For what I saved getting this PSU over the more expensive I was able to get a better newer video card that is more power efficient.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Power Supply

Pros: Shiny case

Cons: Computer was working with different Power Supply. Installed Athena... Started once then quit. Hard drive destroyed, then wouldn't start under load.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard and memory okay. Used a new Hard Disk and different power supply and computer is OK. Can't recommend this unit!

Pros: bought this for a family members pc and have had no issues from it so far

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: it was my own mistake that i did not notice this is a micro atx for the mini cases. not a real issue just had to make a spacer to mount in a mid case. still works just fine.

1 out of 5 eggsDead after 6 months

Pros: Low initial cost

Cons: On a low power system (50w max) this 400w supply was done in less than a year. That is completely unacceptable. Avoid this unit or have a backup ready.

Other Thoughts: Never again with this manufacturer.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsDied in less than 3 months

Pros: Right fan configuration for DVR
Power switch

Cons: Died in less than 3 months

Other Thoughts: I guess you get what you pay for. Not worth the time and money to send it back for a warranty claim. I'll just roll the dice on another one.

3 out of 5 eggsMeasure Your Old PS carefully!

Pros: It does have an ON/OFF switch which is not found on many of the sub-ATX size PS.

Cons: There seems to be confusion about the dimensions of microATX and SFX PS. This did not have the correct dimensions for my case.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a PS in an Enlight 7180 (micro desktop) case. The Athena is 5"(W) x 2.5"(H) x 4.75"(D). It was the right height and shorter than the original Enlight PS but 3/8" too wide. That was enough to prevent it from fitting.

2 out of 5 eggsCouldn't run 3D card - triggered ASUS mobo surge protection

Pros: It ran Windows and web browsers fine.

Cons: Couldn't power my mid-range 3D card. When I ran a 3D game (Dirt 3) to test out my new Radeon HD 7850, right when the game action was about to start, the motherboard anti-surge was triggered and my system shut down showing an unstable power error. I have read that ASUS anti-surge is overly sensitive, but I say better safe than sorry. 400W should be plenty of power to run a 7850. Heck, 200W would probably do it. I bought this PSU because it was inexpensive and had the PCI-e power connector. I thought about RMA'ing, but this PSU was so inexpensive, I would only get about $6 back after paying return shipping and the gas to drive to the post office. I ultimately decided I'd rather have a semi-functional backup PSU in my closet than $6.

Other Thoughts: System is i3 3220, SSD, XFX Radeon HD 7850, no optical drive.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for reviewing our product. We, at ACPC, understand that selecting the correct power supply can be a challenge at times. Let's take max power draw as an example. An XFX Radeon HD7850 draws around 293W (it's a reason why XFX recommends a minimum 500W PSU), Core i3 3220 draws 55W, and 1x SSD draws around 25-28W max (dependent on model and is not an Enterprise SSD version). As we can see it's already totalling ~376W. This is not including the wattage for the memory, system fans, motherboard, or any other additional devices. We highly recommend that if a User is unsure, as to which PSU would be required for their specific configuration, that the User contacts ACPC Customer Service at 626-810-5008. We will be more than happy to assist the User in selecting the correct power supply.
