1 out of 5 eggsBuy if you like things that smoke and don't work

Pros: Small, cheap.

Cons: Everything, sais its 400w, at 360w it busts. Now you have a paperweight.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Great, But Good For the Money

Pros: -small form factor
-has the "ooh, ahh" feel when you open it and see how shiny it is.
-enough connectors for basic computers
-decent power overall
-great price for what you get

Cons: -low amperage on the 12v rail.
-only 1 12v rail.
-weak/thin wires and power cable
-almost too shiny (like it's saying, "i look cool outside, but inside i'm not that great")

Other Thoughts: i was powering a device that ran up to 30amps on 12volts. it was my fault i didn't check the output amperage first. but the connector wires heated up to where i almost couldn't touch them (i thought the rubber insulation was going to melt off), and the power cord got hot and really soft and flimsy (felt like a dead snake afterward). if you plan on using this power supply for anything anywhere near 350 watts, you should get a different power cord than the one they supply.
i ran this power supply at over what they rated it at, and it only lasted a few seconds. but (again) that's my fault. But for $20, you can't really go wrong, unless you need something that can power more than 20 amps.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent Power Supply

Pros: I needed a small cheap power supply for a smaller case and this did the trick.

Cons: While it comes with a few stupid Dell power connectors it lacks ATX12V (8pin) connector and the PCI-E power connectors are only 6pin (not 8 pin).

4 out of 5 eggsIt lasts!

Pros: Makes power
May outlive most house pets

Cons: Does not make coffee

Other Thoughts: I hopped on and checked my order history to see what wattage this thing was, since I don't have physical access to it at the moment and I'm planning on connecting a semi-beefy video card to it. What's important about this is that I ordered it in 2010. Nearly 4 years ago. That's a pretty decent lifespan, and felt it was worth putting in a review. Of course it's going to croak tomorrow since I praised it because that's how the world works.

2 out of 5 eggsDell Dimension 8400 Compatible

Pros: o It was fully compatible with my Dell Dimension 8400 right out of the box.
o Quiet compared to the aging OEM one it replaced.
o Decently cheap as I paid $34 for it.

Cons: o Doesn't last.
o Almost lasted 2 years.
o Other brands seem to fair much better in longevity.
o Seems like other reviewers have the same issue with lifespan.

Other Thoughts: Contemplating whether I should try another one or just forget it.

If you need a PSU now this one will work. Don't hope it will last however. The Manufacturer is responding but it seems theres only a 1 year warranty to keep in mind.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is small
It works
It hasn't exploded on me

Cons: It does run a little bit hot but that is fine for what I am using it for.

Other Thoughts: I needed to get a small PSU for an HP Pavilion but didn't want to get their OEM version so I settled for this. It doesn't fit inside of the case but it is small enough for me to just have sit right outside.

I was reluctant with this PSU at first but it has treated me well over the past year.

5 out of 5 eggsNot Athena's Fault

Pros: -Small
-Decently Equipped

Cons: Absolutely none.

Other Thoughts: Many people have been complaining about this not being a "Micro ATX" power supply. That is not Athena's fault and is not a good reason to give a bad review, especially when the user didn't even try to plug it in. It works as well as you could expect a PSU this cheap to work. Also, if you read the description, it is clearly advertised as a Micro PS3, not a Micro ATX. In fact, it does not say anywhere in the "Specifications" tab that it is a Mirco ATX. Furthermore, the measurements are right there for all to see. If size is a concern, one aught to take measurements. Here is some advice: If a product is really cheap, like this one, do your homework or at least read the specifications.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Made of metal?

Cons: Does not POST with two motherboards, and killed a third one.

Other Thoughts: The QC of this power supply sucks. The otput voltages are inaccurate. It has thin wire to the ATX connector, and they are poorly crimped. I could go on and on. Too bad I have had it over 30 days, due to my lack of time building a new system, or back to newegg it would go. I would stick to Sparkle or Corsair.

Manufacturer Response:

3 out of 5 eggsIt works so far ...BUT

Pros: Price was right and it does power the server.

Cons: Listed as being a compatible replacement for Dell PowerEdge SC 440 Server. But it's not really.

1 - Not a perfect fit - It fits in place, but does leave an open gap in the back plane.
2 - Power cables are too short to reach both SATA Hard Drives. I managed to get one SATA drive connected, but not the other. Extension are needed to connect both.
3- SATA connectors are straight, not "L" connectors. "L" shaped adapters are need in order to close the Chassis cover.

Other Thoughts: Bottom line is. It will work as a replacement for the Dell PowerEdge SC 440, but not out of the box.

Manufacturer Response:

We at Athena Power apologize for the inconvenience. We will take your corcerns and comments to our factory if you ahve any other concerns or issues with our product please feel free contact us at or call us at (626) 810-5008.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fits Dell Dimension 8400 perfectly using the 2 original screws.

Working fine now for over a month hooked up to 2 internal SATA hard drives, an SATA DVD drive, and a CD-ROM drive.

Cons: None so far. I'll post again if I encounter any problems.

Original Dell power supply worked for 6 years with no problems, then 2 more years with intermittent problems.

Other Thoughts: Blue LED mentioned by others is *inside* the unit on mine. You can see it by looking through fan opening in the back. It does *not* light up the room.
