The Athena Power AP-P4ATX60FE provides a robust 600W output for your sever system. Dual fans keep the sever chassis cool without producing excess noise. The power supply is for new OEM PC and server assemblies, including MiniServers and rackmount servers, and also supports both 20-pin and 24-pin ATX v.2.2 and EPS-12V Xeon motherboards.

  • newegg Multiple Support Function Supporting ATX V2.2, EPS-12V Xeon, and i7 motherboards, it also includes four PCI-E 6-pin connectors for advanced graphics cards running in quad SLI or Crossfire configurations. This PSU can be used for mini-servers, server assemblies, rackmount servers, and desktops.
  • newegg Dual Fans The dual fan (one is mounted in the front and one is in the back) design is targeted to maintain a reliable source of power to keep the system cool. The rear fan intakes the heat that is produced inside the server or system, and pushes it through the front fan which is positioned towards the exit points of the server/system; this keeps the motherboard and hard drives cool.
  • newegg Smart Auto Fan Speed Controller With its thermal fan speed control, it will detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly. Using this controller to detect the heat levels of the PSU, it will adjust the fan speed accordingly. With this feature built in, worrying about the heat level of a PSU becomes almost non-existent.
  • newegg Silence is Golden Athena Computer Power’s designers have designed a low ripple and noise feature that is included within the PSU, taking the customer’s needs into consideration for whatever they may be using this PS2 PSU for. The electrical ripple and noise have been significantly reduced for a more quiet system.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks but is a little noisy

Pros: Works and has an 8 pin connector for the CPU. Has front to back pass through fans for cooling.

Cons: a little noisy

Other Thoughts: I needed a power supply that could deliver at least 300 watts with a pass through fan structure because I was mounting this in 2U server rack. without top or bottom venting.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply

Pros: This is a good power supply that is fulfilling my needs nicely. Lots of cable ends means lots of power options, including extended CPU power and fan cables.

Cons: It could use a few more SATA power cables.

Other Thoughts: It's rated for 600W, but I'm not pulling anywhere near that. I went that high in order to potentially add disks and other peripherals later. It's been on pretty much 24/7 for the past year.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted less than one year.

Pros: Non. The Power Supply lasted less than a year. You get what you pay for.

Cons: Power supply lasted less than a year. Avoid the headache of having to replace it in the near future and invest in a better quality product or model.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Power Supply

Pros: Runs good.
Has the right amount of connectors I needed.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have always been aprehensive about power supplies. I have purchased both High end and low end stuff over the years and both have had equal issues with reliability. Most of the time it truely comes down to does the consumer take the time to research the power requires they need.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Nice to look at, great conversation piece

Cons: Does not work... at all

Other Thoughts: I bought 2 of these for backups on my servers, shipped to the datacenter and neither one of them worked when I needed them the most. I have had them on standby for a few months and now I cannot return them to Newegg.

1 out of 5 eggswaste of time

Pros: would be - if they pay for my time dealing with Athena Power lack of QA ( Quality processes in place ) .

Cons: DOA - Dead On Arrival.
To NEWEGG - I bought(ordered the) the device 9/25/2008. Due to busy travel schedule - I tried to install it today : 10/27/2008 . It is DOA - checked with DVM - has all voltages, however the MB does not start .
Well - just about to talk to Athena Power and see how much time I need to spend on their 3-Year warranty .

Other Thoughts: none

3 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: works great, i bought 5 for a erver farm and have had no problems with them.

Cons: The included power cord is not adequate. after leaving the machines running for a about a minute, the power cord becomes warm to the touch. while none failed I replaced them all with heavy duty cords to be sure. Also they seem to run rather hot, but with heavy duty servers this is to be expected.

Other Thoughts: fit great and had no problems they just don't 'seem' very heavy duty. guess i can't complain though after 4 months and no problems.
