The Athena Power AP-P4ATX70FEP provides high output up to700W for your sever system, with support for a quad-core processor and even a multiple-GPU configuration. The power supply is for new OEM PC and server assemblies, including MiniServers and rackmount servers, and also supports both 20- or 24-pin ATX v.2.2 and EPS-12V Xeon motherboards. With Active PFC and Full Range features, the efficiency of this PSU is 75% and up. Dual cooling fans with smart auto fan speed controller keep the sever chassis cool without producing excess noise.

  • newegg Multiple Support Function Supporting ATX V2.3, EPS-12V Xeon, and i7 motherboards, it also includes PCI-E 6 and 6+2 pin connectors for advanced graphics cards running in quad SLI or Crossfire configuration. This PSU can be used for mini-servers, server assemblies, rackmount servers, and desktops.
  • newegg Active PFC and Full Range Input The Active PFC and Full Range function provides a smarter PSU. It’s able to detect the differences of wattage that is needed to power up your system. You can rest assured that it will provide and maintain the most suitable power needed for your system.
  • newegg Dual Fans The dual fan (one is mounted in the front and one is in the back) design is targeted to maintain a reliable source of power and keeping the system cooled. The rear fan intakes the heat that is produced inside the server or system and pushes it through the front fan which is positioned towards the exit points of the server/system, which keeps the motherboard and hard drives cool.
  • newegg Smart Auto Fan Speed Controller With its thermal fan speed control it will detect the amount of heat generated by the computer and spin accordingly. Using this controller to detect the heat levels of the PSU it will adjust the fan speed accordingly, with this feature built in, worrying about the heat level of a PSU becomes almost non-existent.
  • newegg Silence is Golden Athena Computer Power’s designers have designed a low ripple and noise feature that is included within the PSU, taking customer’s needs into consideration for whatever they may be using this PS2 PSU for, the electrical ripple and noise has been significantly reduced for a more quiet system.

Pros: Reasonably priced power supply, worked right out of box, for a while...

Cons: Didn't last. Purchased the Athena Power AP-P4ATX70FEP in July 2009 for a minimal use server - power supply didn't make it a full year. You get what you pay for I guess.

Pros: None

Cons: DOA. Simply will not work. I matched this power supply to the specs on my motherboard. Fans will gear up for a moment then nothing. Put in an old used psu and everything works great. Do not buy. I should have read the other bad reviews. Newegg might have a bad shipment of these.

Pros: Didn't have a chance to find any.

Cons: DOA. Plugged it in, turned on the power, fans spun once, then nothing else happened. Plugged in a different power supply and everything was happy.

Pros: lots of power for the price... if it works

Cons: Broken straight out of the box!

Other Thoughts: Purchased for a server build that needed 5 drives - after I built everything seemed fine until I put the side panel on. Even the SLIGHTEST bump froze the power supply and reset it. since I assumed the power supply was good, I thought I might have a loose screw or the motherboard was bottoming out in the case NOPE! I will never stray from antec PSUs again.
