3 out of 5 eggsNo 8 Pin Connector

Pros: Cannot say what Pros might be as I didn't realize it didn't have 8-pin connector so it wouldn't fire up my MSI motherboard.

Cons: As stated in title this power supply doesn't have the necessary 8-pin connector for some motherboards. Tried to research if a 4-pin that it does come with could be used to make it work but it wouldn't start up my MSI board....luckily I had another power supply for another build.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't be fooled

Pros: Price

Cons: Failed and took my pci-e slot on my mobo with it.

Other Thoughts: Was running an AMD Phenom X4 and older video without issue. Upgraded the video card to one that had a minimum recommended 500w power supply requirement. PSU failed within 24 hours of upgrade and took my pci-e x16 slot with it. Was able to retest all components in a second computer and the new $200 vid card was still alive, but my old mobo refuses to run any vid card in the pci-e slot. Cards fans work, but no graphics output. You get what you pay for. Look at the current ratings on the rails, this should be a 300w or 350w at best.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Darn Good

Pros: Cheap and reliable!! definitly worked in a pinch for 4 years lol. no glitching or random shut offs what so ever

Cons: did die after 4 years of use but wasn't power supply fault, it got clogged with nasty dust and i didn't notice. user fail there but man it held up good!

Other Thoughts: If you are going to cheap out on a power supply this is definitly the one to get. it ran like a champ with a phenom II x4 940 and a XFX 4850 for 4 years before it went the way of the way of the dodo. BUT if you can afford it spend fiddy dolla and catch a bronze 80 plus on sale. if not and budget is tight? i can't say anything bad about this power supply

5 out of 5 eggs5 Years and still working

Pros: What can I say, i had a old dell 4800 that needed a new PSU. Bought this and replaced the OEM and it has been working flawlessly for the 5 years i've had it.

Cons: One of the molex connectors felt loose (capped it and didn't use it) otherwise GREAT price for a good psu that you would use in a everyday pc.

4 out of 5 eggsGood so far. Note the watts on each line......

Pros: I've purchased several of these HEC power supplies over the last few years. So far I haven't had any die on me. Admittedly, I have not used them like I would a Corsair or Antec PSU with the same wattage. I just don't trust em. They've only been used in basic workstations or lightweight gaming rigs with lower power consumption video cards (ie. GTS 450, GTX 550ti/650, Radeon 6750)

Cons: The reason for only using these in lightweight builds is the "loading up" of wattage on the 5V and 3.3V lines and skimping on the 12V. If you look at the specs, you get 28A on the 3.3V and 30A on the 5V, both of which are totally ridiculous and will never be used. Then you only get 15A on the 12V rail which if you do your math, comes to only 180W. Let's say you want to use a mid/high range graphics card like a GTX 660ti (about 140W at load) paired with an Intel 3570K (77W) or AMD Vishera 6300 (95W). You're now at around 210W-230W or so on the 12V, more than this this thing will dish out.

Other Thoughts: It's all about the 12V. Don't be fooled by raw wattage.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Pwr Sup for the money.

Pros: This power supply has been rock solid for me for the past several years. From what I can tell, it is the best choice for the money and price range.

Cons: Recently purchased 5, one failed. I plugged it in and it looked like a bolt of lightning coming out of the rear cooling hole.
Still gave 4 of 5 considering the large number that I have used in the past.

Other Thoughts: Failed parts are like a double whammy... You're out on time AND you're out extra money for shipping. I've never been satisfied with this arrangement...
It seems as though the purchaser is assuming all of the risk.
