4 out of 5 eggsSpeed of light shipping - almost

Pros: Fairly inexpensive. Works and powers what it was intended for.
I ordered this before noon on Tuesday and it arrived Wednesday afternoon. Not too shabby, Newegg, keep it up!!

Cons: The wiring for the power leads is #20 gauge stranded wire. The wire should be 18 gauge instead of 20. Sub-standard.

4 out of 5 eggsChugs right along without problems

Pros: Very dependable, no issues

Cons: limited number of SATA connections

Other Thoughts: For as little as I paid for this, I can't believe it has lasted for over 3-1/2 years with so much as a whimper! The fan is fairly quiet, and it just does its job very well! I've even upgraded to a better video card, and this power supply still handles it very well. I do spray the dust out regularly, so that the internal components don't wear prematurely.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent for $10 after MIR

Pros: Quiet and inexpensive if MIR works out; push-pull fans; seems to be adequate and stable for Ath2X2 2.8GHz 65W/HD6670/4GB DDR3/DVD-RW/4 case fans; was a bit of a tight fit depth wise in a mid-tower case

Cons: Undid all PS conn's in computer->Took out old PS-> Installed this PS-> Reconnected needed plugs->Carefully bundled unused plugs and tucked then tethered them into unused 2nd HDD bay->Notice empty rectangle on $20 rebate form for UPC sticker(it's an OEM PS, so no box/no cord/no scroos(is this better, Mr. Obscenity Filter, LOL)->Cussed PS and MIRs like a dog->Undo/Redo above steps

Other Thoughts: Plugged in on benchtop with presumed good old cord to check with multimeter . Nothing. Checked continuity/shorting of cord terminals-fine. Switched 117/234 to and fro a couple or three times to make sure it wasn't stuck halfway. Still nothing. Thought I got a DOA, called tech support for hec; immediate answer by friendly tech. He advised shorting the green wire(pin 4?) to the black wire just inboard of it. Voila, and all voltages checked just fine.

Only has a 15A 12v single rail. I knew this going in, and made my buy solely on price vs. avg rating. I didn't see anything else here that had an 80% 4+* rating in the price/watts range except the Antec Basiq(only 1 fan) and Rosewill RV350-2(love their case & cpu fans, but have read too many disparaging reviews of their PS's). If the rebate works out, that'll just be gravy.

Pros: can't say because the main 20+4 pin cable is too short for bottom mounted ps!

Cons: its illegal to make the main cable this short! wasted a lot of time, now i have to return and buy another. thanks HEC...

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome little PSU

Pros: Quiet. Puts out decent power. Low price. Enough connectors for most basic to mid level builds.

Cons: The cables could be just a little bit thicker, but you cant expect to get the perfect PSU at this price. The box also feels a little light, but whatever.

Other Thoughts: At the end of the day you will always get those folks out there saying to avoid it and to spend more money. But seriously, if your rig only needs something just a little above the stock 300w PSU this is the one to get. I don't think I would push it past 400w but it is more than fine for most systems. Mine is currently powering an AMD a10-5800k, 8GB 1866 DDR3, 64GB SSD, and 2 120mm fans. Before that it was powering a Intel Pentium dual core E5400, 6GB 1333 DDR3, 1TB HDD, and 2 80mm fans.

1 out of 5 eggsBuy a real PSU, please

Pros: The specifications use big numbers

Cons: Worked for 20 hours, then started to BSOD anytime I ran anything more demanding than Asteriods. It took me many months of troubleshooting because every BSOD was for a different system failure. Finally decided this HAD to be it, and I reinstalled the stock PSU. 2 weeks later and no problems.

Other Thoughts: This is blown away by a garden-variety stock 300W supply, so I'm having a hard time seeing the value here. When this fails it is not intuitive to diagnose. Please just save yourself months of headaches and inconvenience by getting yourself a real power supply. Corsairs are $15 more, people.

3 out of 5 eggshmmmm

Pros: sale price...dual fans

Cons: short cables...probably for a workstation...kind of light weight also

Other Thoughts: By the time you buy extensions for your connections you could have spent the extra 5 bucks to get something else
