1 out of 5 eggsNew rule - if it dies, it only gets 1 egg

Pros: Enough juice to power a small city. Cables were easy to work with when I put my system together. Versatile modular design. Six +12v rails. Quiet.

Cons: All of those good qualities are for naught, however, because it died after less than two months of use. I powered the computer off and less than 10 minutes later I hit the switch to turn it on, and nothing. Light on the switch didn't come on. Case fans running off of the PSU didn't start. Checked the cord. Plugged in at both ends. Power strip was on and everything else was getting power. Just to be sure, I switched plugs and cords, but no joy. Obviously, it wasn't pushing any power out to the machinery. The only consolation I can take from this, and it's no small matter, is that it died without drama. There was no zizzing and popping, no sparks, no noxious odors. Working one minute, dead the next. I didn't even leave the room. I can only hope that there's no collateral damage, but I won't know for sure until I get another PSU.

Other Thoughts: I hope the dieties cut me some slack on this because the hard drive on my work computer croaked about four hours earlier. That was much more exciting; it woke me out a sound sleep! I'm glad that isn't coming out of my wallet, too. I guess it's just bad karma.

It's too bad because I was satisfied with its performance before last night. I won't even try to RMA it. NewEgg had it on sale for $139 and free shipping when I bought it, so as far as I'm concerned, it isn't worth the aggravation. At that price I would replace it with the same model, but at $180 plus almost $12 shipping, I'll take a pass. Whatever I buy, though, I'll definitely get it here.

5 out of 5 eggsPlenty Of Power

Pros: This power supply has 6 12v rails. I got this to replace an aging Antec Basiq 550 that got the worst of a brownout in my neighborhood, so I'm glad it came with the belkin SP as a free gift. It has a thicker-than-normal power cord that goes to the AC wall outlet, and eight modular ports to plug the cables that are included for SATA, IDE , floppy, PCI-E etc. Overall I happy with the design and quality of the product, and would buy from this company again.

Cons: the slots for using different 12v rails (i.e. 12v 1, 12v 2, 12v 3 12v 4, etc.) are not identified clearly in the documentation so it's nearly impossible to tell with connections give you the 28A needed for high-end video cards.

Other Thoughts: This PSU should be ready for nVidias next wave of graphics cards (i.e. Geforce 300/400 series and so forth), which need about 200v+ of raw power and that is definitley the second most important reason I brought it.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Sturdy design, modular cables. 3 6 pin cables and 3 6+2 pin cables was enough for my 3 graphics cards with no need to use Molex adapters.

Cons: Cables were almost too sturdy. VERY stiff cables. Also some cables were not modular that I would have prefered so I could take them out.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's packing and shipping rocks.

5 out of 5 eggsLooking forward to this

Pros: This thing is built like a tank -- solid construction all around, even the 110V power cable is much thicker than normal. I don't see any way I'll have any inadequacy problems with my next build.

Cons: None that I can see so far, but I haven't installed or run it yet.

Other Thoughts: As mentioned above, I haven't gotten around to building my next system yet, but with this PSU as one of the cornerstone components, I expect to have A LOT of options available to me.

5 out of 5 eggsfine with me

Pros: I bought this psu because I took a "power test" on line which recommended that wattage i should be at. I should have been at 750 watts but I only had a 650 watt psu. So i upgraded with the shell shocker and so far so good.

Cons: It's a bit louder than my smaller psu, not an issue for me.... just sayin

Other Thoughts: So far i have had no problems, there are so many cables it's insane. I don't know how I would use them all

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Buy

Pros: Love the modular setup and the amount of room I can have in my system with this setup. Powers my system very efficiently and quietly. I run SLI 9800 GTX+ (x2) and my system is considerably overclocked.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Caught it on the shell shocker. If this hadn't been the shell shocker deal I probably would have gone with an 850w supply which would have been more than adequate for my setup.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Extremely high output, modular.

Cons: The primary cables aren't modular, don't know if that's available anywhere or not, but I would have liked it since I don't use any of the old four pin drive supplies.

Other Thoughts: Pretty rocking, I should be good on power supplies for a long time.
