5 out of 5 eggsGoing Strong!!!

Pros: Been going strong for 6.5 years already! Love this power supply. Until my DVD drive just broke, I didn't realize I even had the sata power connectors. Nothing used them when I bought this thing! To the rescue it came when I bought new DVD drive and all it had was sata. Thank you OCZ.

5 out of 5 eggsLong lasting and ahead of its time.

Pros: This was worth every penny spent when I got it back in October of 2006. It was powering a E6400 clocked at 3.2Ghz (+50%) and a 8800 GTS 512. Now, as of November 2012, its powering a 3570K at 4.2Ghz (+25%) and a 7950 at 1050Mhz (+20%). This has all the features of a modem enthusiast's power supply and continues to deliver great performance after years of use.

Cons: Recently the fan bearing has developed a tick. When it dies I will be replacing the fan so I can keep using this great power supply.

Pros: the best power supply is one you never have to think about. this one lasted somewhere between 35,000 and 45,000 hours of on-time; powering three different builds over the years.

Cons: ...its dead now. i dont want to think about how much 500w of power x 40000 hours cost me.

all you less intelligent people complaining that it died after many years of use, are unrealistic mouth breathers. do you complain to Honda when your 1988 civic with 300k miles suddenly stops working? old stuff breaks. that's life, kids.

2 out of 5 eggsLasted for 4.5 years

Pros: While it worked, it provided reliable & stable power under heavy loads.

Cons: Stupid blue lights. Died suddenly after 4.5 years. Was only plugged into clean, filtered UPS AC. There is no excuse why this unit failed. After some research, these have become known to do this between 4 and 5 years.

Other Thoughts: Last OCZ PSU that I buy -- when you spend this kind of money, you expect to get quality. This was replaced with a Corsair HX750.

Manufacturer Response:

We are sorry for the problem. Power supplies can lead a rough life and 4.5 years can be considered a good service life, although we wish yours had lasted longer. Thank you

Cons: replacement failed in another 2 years

5 out of 5 eggsR.I.P. 10/18/2007 - 06/07/2012

Pros: Really good looking with the blue lights. Very quiet. I'm quite happy with the almost 5 years run I got out of it.

Cons: None. If you're really picky then you might not like that it does have a lot of extra cables.

5 out of 5 eggsHad it about 4 Years

Pros: Great PSU powered my 8800gts just fine.

Cons: None really. Not sure if this is a con but it had A LOT of extra wires. I will definately buy a modular PSU next time.

Other Thoughts: It was great while it worked. Now that it failed I decided do another build. Not a bad power supply.
