Bought on the OCZ Name ....
- Pros: Specs were great, recommended on SLI zone for 2 GTX 280's
I wanted room for expansion, This had stellar reviews.
Quite, ran Fantastic for about 3 months. never a power issue until 02/13/09 when it died.
- Cons: Bought Black Fri, Died on Friday 02/13/09 after about 76 days usage ...
- Other Thoughts: This is a Rev 1.0 PSU, hopefully there have been improvements to the design, after about 30 reported failures ... I replaced it with a competitors PSU, because I did know how long an RMA was going to take, and I am not going 2 weeks without my main source of entertainment .... from the posted comments it looks like that was a good Choice ... I remain Optimistic with the OCZ name on the line for better quality ..... out of the replacement.

Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the problem. Your replacement unit should work out just fine for you. Thank you
What a Major Let Down!
- Pros: I originally liked this case because of how clean the design looks. Very subtle labeling, wires loomed, single powerful rail, Black, and got a great review at HardOCP. I looked past the bad reviews that were given here because OCZ is a great company that has been around for a long time. They also recently acquired my previous favorite PSU manu., PC Power&Cooling. I thought this combination would result in a dependable PSU that would last me thru a few builds. Man was I wrong on that thought...
- Cons: Unfortunately, I really put too much faith in OCZ and its 1K PSU. So much in fact that I completely customized the wiring to fit my case perfectly which took weeks of work to achieve only to find out only after 4 months of use I have a customized brick on my hands! :( This unit completely died and now I'm stuck with a brick with wires and since I modded it I voided the warranty. I knew this obviously going into the customization of the exterior and wiring lengths but I didn't expect this from a High Dollar PSU from a reputable company such as OCZ. It really goes to show you that the feedback here at Newegg.com should really be looked at because they warned me but I chose not to listen. I have learned my lesson and hopefully this will reach someone before they make the mistake of purchasing this unit or possibly another product with such a negative review history. Consider yourself warned!
- Other Thoughts: I have since moved to the original PSU I was going to purchase, Corsair 1000w. Its modular, has a great feedback everywhere ya go, extremely nice looking unit that I'm sure will last longer than this sad excuse for a PSU! In addition if I so choose, it is TRISLI ready too!

Manufacturer Response:Hello, we are sorry for the problem. Opening the case or customizing the unit beyond sheathing the wires will unfortunately void your warranty. keeps dying
- Pros: All the power and connectors you could ever need. Sleeved cables are nice.
- Cons: Not modular. Also, has a lifespan of about 2-3 months.
- Other Thoughts: We purchased 15 of these, give or take, here at work about 3 months ago, and we're up to 6 deaths so far. Its a shame because I love OCZ as a brand, and I figured since they own PC Power and Cooling their PSUs should be equally solid. Unfourtunately, thats not the case. I wouldnt mind RMAing if I had one at home, but this is for work.. dead power supplies mean lost work.
