Silent efficiency, pure quality
- Pros: OCZ made a quiet, energy efficient, and powerful modular power supply. This unit is as quiet as they get (with a fan). I isolated the PSU from the rest of my computer and listened in. Even with my ear on the fan side, 1 foot away from the other components, I could barely hear it. The processor fan on idle was louder still. Also, the air that comes out of the PSU is actually somewhat cool, with an efficiency rating of 84% on idle and load for my components. The modular connections are very nicely wrapped in sleeves all the way to the connectors so there is no wire visible at any point. The ones that remain connected to the PSU are very flexible with a feel of durability.
- Cons: I simply can not find a con with this unit. I tested the voltage rails' fluctuation and they barely move at all; this is more proof to the quality of the parts. There is no smell that some power supplies produce as well as no noise like buzzing or high pitched electronic sounds. Upon inspecting the back I could see the inside is extremely tidy. There is no glue splattered around like some manufacturers and every component is cooled by the fins and fan. I suppose the only con is that the power supply only comes with 2 PCI-e connections; one 6 pin and one 6+2 pin. You could use adapters to change regular 4 pins into more PCI-e connectors but it's not quite as stable. Or you could get a 4870x2 and never have to worry about it.
- Other Thoughts: OCZ made an excellent decision adopting PC power and Cooling. This power supply has high quality parts at a great price. Being modular also helps greatly in cabling inside the case. Don't let the higher watts power supplies scare you into thinking you need them for a high end system. I use this PSU for: ATI 4870x2, phenom 9950 (125w), 4GBs OCZ 1066 memory, DFI LP JR 790GX-M2RS, 1TB Samsung F1 HD103UJ, and water cooling with pump on max speed. I still have 190 watts (at full load) to spare for overclocking should I want to. Even at 510 watts load it is silent and cool running. I absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking to power a high end system while still looking for silence. I hate the phrase but it's the best bang for buck you will find.
Died
- Pros: It didn't explode.
- Cons: Died after a couple weeks. I believe the problems with random reboots and bsd's were caused by this component before it finally went to psu heaven. I lost some hair over this one.
- Other Thoughts: I have never had a PSU die on me in 15 years. I got an RMA and went to the trouble and expense of shipping it back, but it was rejected since I did not have the original packaging. So basically I am out $$$ since I had to get a replacement from a local supplier to keep my box running.

- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: You should get it if your looking forward to making your future build.
Dead PSU after 2.5 months
- Pros: Great PSU, fan on the bottom worked great with my computer case.
- Cons: MoBo power wire was a little short, - PSU Died on me 2-3 months after use and took my motherboard with it. I'm not a happy camper.
- Other Thoughts: Good price, but then again good price sometimes leads to problems later on.
Happy camper
- Pros: Nicely wrapped, modular cables, whisper quiet, plenty of juice. Enough molex type connections for my legacy devices.
- Cons: MIR: Mail-in-rebate? Must-ignore-rigamarole!
Fuggetabowdit. It's a good PSU for the price.
- Other Thoughts: Replaced a 4nt3c 430 PSU with this one.
