5 out of 5 eggsStill Kicking

Pros: Running a Phenom X3 and Radeon HD 5770 and about 4 HDDs like a champ for 5 years now.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Looking it up again because I'm curious of the TDP 200W R9 280 will work alright with it. Not sure yet, but I'd imagine yes. That said, if it kicked it after 5 years because I threw a beastly graphics card in it I wouldn't be that upset with it.

5 out of 5 eggsOCZ ModXStream Pro 700W 80Plus

Pros: Had this since Order Date: 02/01/2009 and it still kicking it was inside a ROOM of heavy smokers and not just ciggs LOL... i sware there was this black dust inside there i never seen or smelt before and it still going im gonna buy another one maybe just to rebuild my old setup in a HTPC case 5 stars my only hesitation right now is that OCZ does not make PSU anymore and not sure if that means we wont get product support and the machine was on for 6.5 years down for 2 weeks bc of hurricane sandy that was IT

Cons: SEMI MODULAR BUT ITS NOT A CON 5 eggs

Other Thoughts: if you would of seen the ammount of black nasty dust inside this machine you would of all been suprised it still ran they cleaned the pc out 2x in 6 years ... sad that psus became non profitable for ocz bc they made the best psus i think

3 out of 5 eggsAverage PowerSupply

Pros: Ran on a machine nonstop for 2 years.

Cons: Died after 2 years. Powersupply just popped. Only good thing is, is that nothing else died with it.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Budget PSU

Pros: Great PSU, bought it back in October 2011 was was still running on February 12, 2015. Never had any issues with it. good Budget buy!

Cons: No cons really, it never made me breakfast i suppose.

Other Thoughts: This PSU powered my 8350 for years and was still running strong, only reason i decided to replace was because i got a good deal on a different power supply. This PSU deserves all 5 of those eggs I gave it because it never quit or crashed on me.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Semi modular, quiet, decent quality, ran for 6 years

Cons: Cables a bit short for an atx mid tower case, ran for 6 years

Other Thoughts: I have owned this PSU for 6 years running a mid range gaming system running nearly 24/7. Its a nice modular PSU with plenty of expansion for a mid range system. Overall great PSU.

1 out of 5 eggsAVOID this PSU

Pros: This PSU was in my last build. I bought it because it was a good deal and I'd heard good things about OCZ. 700W seemed able to provide enough headroom for future upgrades. I got this unit and used it for years, thinking it was high quality.

Cons: Here comes the bad part.... I'd been experiencing random system freezes and reboots. I just blamed it on the OS and lived with it. After a few years of this, it started to get worse. My PC would lock up and reboot nearly daily. Foolish me did not think to suspect the PSU. I didn't find out until I built a new PC for myself, and attempted to "recycle" my old build for a family member. This PSU made the transition to a new case and motherboard. Build completed... and wouldn't turn on. RMAed the motherboard. Same problem. Then I swapped my brand new SeaSonic PSU out of my new build to test a theory out. Fired right up! Needless to say, I bought another SeaSonic from Newegg and launched this thing into the trash where it belongs.

Other Thoughts: Don't skimp on a PSU. Literally the most important component of any build. I personally love SeaSonic, as they produce all their own units and have very rigid quality standards. Other good brands are Corsair and EVGA, though other manufacturers make their units, SeaSonic included. Don't make same mistake I did, or you're in for a headache.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: Semi-modular is nice because it only comes with the cords a build needs pre-installed while allowing more if needed.
Bag with cables was nice
Works exactly as needed, never had a problem

Cons: Cords are a bit short. The 8-pin power cord BARELY reached the motherboard. However, it had to go in a straight line to reach. That is a problem seeing as I had a graphics card in the way. Had to buy extension cord to reach it. Not a huge problem, but worth noting. Only worth 1/2 an egg off, but not possible so 4 eggs it is.

Other Thoughts: Only enough 8-pin slots for 1 graphics card.
But you probably want a higher wattage if you will have multiple GPU's

Owned since 2012

All in all great PSU and I would recommend

4 out of 5 eggsWas great while it lasted

Pros: + Modular
+ Powers everything you want
+ Plenty of connectors

Cons: - It eventually died

Other Thoughts: It's hard to review a PSU because you will only know its value years down the road. I adored my PSU for the four years that I had it, and have no regrets for the purchase. I plan on buying this brand or something similar.
