Pros: Power supply died 2 weeks before the end of the warranty period. The company honored their warranty and replaced it without any hassle.

Other Thoughts: I wish there was someway to edit a prior review.

1 out of 5 eggsLasted almost 3 years

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: Worked great, until it didn't.

Cons: Just died out of the blue.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in May 2011, and it worked great for almost 3 years. Then overnight, it just stopped working, dead as a doornail.

1 out of 5 eggssecond one to die

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: Looks nice and is quite heavy, and the modular part is great

Cons: This one lasted 1&1/2 yr then quite on a computer with only one gtx460 and only used maybe two to three days per month.off the rest of the time. And no gaming!
Had a modexstream 600 before this PSU and it lasted 9 months

Other Thoughts: Once maybe twice poorly made

1 out of 5 eggsdead

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: It was a nice, modular power supply.

Cons: While it lasted. Made it 4 years, died this week. Warranty period has passed.

Other Thoughts: Looks like a lot of people have been losing their OCZ power supplies recently. Sucktastic. I guess my 600w unit is on death row too.

2 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: Modular. Looks fancier than any other PSU I have purchased.

Cons: Died after 3.5 years, which is a shorter lifespan than PSUs I have purchased for half the price.

Other Thoughts: Not very impressed with the reliability of this product.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Honoring Their Warranty

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: As stated in my previous review, this PSU is quiet, powerful and modular

Cons: It has failed after 2.5 years into a 3 year OCZ warranty.

Other Thoughts: This PSU failed 2.5 years into a 3 year OCZ warranty. I've opened a Support ticket with OCZ and received a nice reply with some instructions on how to try and "jump start" it using a paperclip. I followed the instructions to no avail.
Also in the reply the rep stated that OCZ has recently been purchased by Toshiba and they are no longer processing RMA's for PSU's during the "transition". (with no ETA on when this will be complete)
What kind of company would stop this type of customer service during an ownership change? What does that say about the company?
Thoroughly disappointing!

2 out of 5 eggsGreat, until it died

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: Quiet, powerful, modular with lots of additional connections if needed

Cons: It died well before any default power supply should have, let a long a "High Performance" power supply.

Other Thoughts: This PS worked great for the two years I've had it, but with very little "power" usage at all I was very surprised that it just suddenly died. VERY disappointing. And, of course, I'm out of warranty. Not sure I'll go back to OCZ again.

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: Lasted two years, powered all my stuff.

Cons: Wish it would've lasted longer or crapped out before the warranty expired.

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after 4.5 years; warranty is insufficient

This review is from: OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W Modular High Performance Power Supply compatible with Intel Sandybridge Core i3 i5 i7 Intel 4th Gen CPU Haswell and AMD Phenom

Pros: - Modular design helpful
- Quiet
- It worked for 4.5 years but perhaps only because of a low-demand system

Cons: It doesn't allow my latest generation system to boot up (AMD 8350 CPU). It has probably never performed as advertised, but I only know now that I've upgraded to a more demanding machine and it doesn't work. Maybe they will still let me RMA?

Warranty is 3 years. Rosewill offers a 7 year warranty on some of their products.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear R. Daly,

This particular unit should be able to power a AMD FX-8350 / Piledriver microarchitecture based system. Even if your warranty has expired we will still gladly troubleshoot and help determine if the PSU is the cause of your new system not powering on. Please contact our Support using the link below and provide as much information as possible to help guide our advice and recommendations.

Also, for your reference, OCZ has also sold units with 3-year, 5-year, and 7-year warranty. Those options can be explored using the link below.

Thank you for sharing your feedback!

Kind Regards,
OCZ Support
