Silent efficiency, pure quality
- Pros: OCZ made a quiet, energy efficient, and powerful modular power supply. This unit is as quiet as they get (with a fan). I isolated the PSU from the rest of my computer and listened in. Even with my ear on the fan side, 1 foot away from the other components, I could barely hear it. The processor fan on idle was louder still. Also, the air that comes out of the PSU is actually somewhat cool, with an efficiency rating of 84% on idle and load for my components. The modular connections are very nicely wrapped in sleeves all the way to the connectors so there is no wire visible at any point. The ones that remain connected to the PSU are very flexible with a feel of durability.
- Cons: I simply can not find a con with this unit. I tested the voltage rails' fluctuation and they barely move at all; this is more proof to the quality of the parts. There is no smell that some power supplies produce as well as no noise like buzzing or high pitched electronic sounds. Upon inspecting the back I could see the inside is extremely tidy. There is no glue splattered around like some manufacturers and every component is cooled by the fins and fan. I suppose the only con is that the power supply only comes with 2 PCI-e connections; one 6 pin and one 6+2 pin. You could use adapters to change regular 4 pins into more PCI-e connectors but it's not quite as stable. Or you could get a 4870x2 and never have to worry about it.
- Other Thoughts: OCZ made an excellent decision adopting PC power and Cooling. This power supply has high quality parts at a great price. Being modular also helps greatly in cabling inside the case. Don't let the higher watts power supplies scare you into thinking you need them for a high end system. I use this PSU for: ATI 4870x2, phenom 9950 (125w), 4GBs OCZ 1066 memory, DFI LP JR 790GX-M2RS, 1TB Samsung F1 HD103UJ, and water cooling with pump on max speed. I still have 190 watts (at full load) to spare for overclocking should I want to. Even at 510 watts load it is silent and cool running. I absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking to power a high end system while still looking for silence. I hate the phrase but it's the best bang for buck you will find.
Rebate is a Scam
- Pros: Very happy with the quality of the PSU. All voltages tested, and stable. Modular cables make for a very neat installation.
Newegg gets a 5-egg as usual, but OCZ gets 1egg and another disatisfied customer.
- Cons: REBATE is a SCAM. I figured most others just made a mistake, and I made an incorrect assumption. Put it this way OCZ kills two birds with one stone. First the date tolerance is so tight you can not meet it. Second they have your UPC so now you can not return the PSU if it dies premature.

Pretty good
- Pros: Gave it 4/5 eggs. Works flawlessly, quiet, The Modular cabling feature is pretty cool.
- Cons: The case I have mounts the Power supply at the bottom of the case. The Power adapter for the CPU is a VERY tight fit, made it by 1/2inch, for the money and the variety of cases out there they could make the 12v 4/8 cables a little longer for easier access.
- Other Thoughts: None, I'll buy another.
Fantastic!
- Pros: Sturdy. Big fan. Big thick cables. Durable. Modular is great. Great for cable management
- Cons: A tad heavy and the fan can be a bit loud
- Other Thoughts: A definite buy in my book!
Nice PSU
- Pros: 80 plus is very important to me. Modular is a very nice touch. Runs cool and stable.
- Cons: Cables are a tad short, 1 sata power cable wont reach from my hard drive to my optical drive, had to use both cables just to power those 2 things. the mobo power and CPU power also had a hard time reaching. Wish it had more cables in general. Also wish there was no annoying floppy drive connector at the end of both of the molex cables, who uses floppies anymore anyway?
- Other Thoughts: My 400 watt Corsair that this replaced had all the cables I needed and none that I didn't (useless floppy connectors), they were all plenty long, and the connectors were better quality. I think I'm sticking to Corsair for power supplies from now on.
