5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: It's stable, outputs lots of power, and the modular design makes cable management easier. It also plays very nicely with step-function back-up battery systems. I'm using an approximated sine-wave UPS right now (APC BN1250G), and it has no problems transitioning from wall power to battery backup in the event of a (simulated) power outage.

Cons: It needs more SATA power connectors. A molex to SATA converter is provided, but I wish there were more dedicated SATA power cables.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II X4 840
PNY GTX460 XLR8
MSI 880G-E45
8GB DDR3
SanDisk Extreme 240GB
2 White Label HDDs
1 Optical Drive

Idle: ~80W
Load (Furmark): ~290W

4 out of 5 eggsWorked fine for 3 years and then

Pros: Runs quiet installs easily

Cons: Has a 3 year warranty and 3 weeks after that period has gone by the unit stopped working. Hoping OCZ will take care of me and still let me RMA it as I love these and all my other units work fine.

5 out of 5 eggs1 year +, no issues

Pros: Had this PS for over a year and I havent noticed any issues, which is a good thing.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why I thought I needed the detachable cables. This is a feather that cost more but most users are going to need all the cables plugged in anyway.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat support OCZ

Pros: Worked great for almost 3 years. Never had any problems what-so-ever with this PSU. All the rails were solid and rarely dipped but I don't have a power hungry computer(q6600@3.6ghz, 4gb's RAM, 4870 1gb, 8 HDD/SSD's)

Cons: With about a month left on my warranty, I was surfing the net and listening to music then all of a sudden POP!!! and computer shut down. Didn't smell the typical electronic burning smell tho lol. Nothing died besides the PSU(thank the guy upstairs).

Other Thoughts: OCZ support is top notch. After a couple e-mails I got an RMA#. Took around a week and I was back up and running. Hopefully this one lasts because my warranty is up :(.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for the positive feedback!

Kind Regards,
OCZ Support

1 out of 5 eggsFailed me once - then failed me again!

Pros: Two failures within 12 months - not much room here.

Cons: Failed within a year, replacement failed in less than 90 days. Too expensive to keep shipping - with the weight - and now lack of trust. Poor QA.

Other Thoughts: OCZ, as a brand, is off my build parts list. Never should there be two defective PSU's in such a short time.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear wmciii,

We are very sorry to hear this, wmciii. In this situation we will arrange to have the PSU picked up or provide a return shipping label at our expense. We will definitely stand behind the unit and will arrange for another replacement. Please contact me via rcampbell at ocztechnology dot com and I will make arrangements with you.

On behalf of OCZ, I apologize for the inconvenience!

Kind Regards,
OCZ Support

4 out of 5 eggsMissing Molex

Pros: Great looking, nice fan, and love the modularity of it.

Cons: The 5v power cable is way too short. There is no way to this PSU will work on a case that is bottom mounted and bigger than a Mid-ATX. Also, the PSU does have modular connectors for molex, but for some reason, it only has the female connector on it when all the devices out there need the male end on it. So it's pretty much useless.

What this means is if you need to add more case fans than your mother board can support, you need to buy a SATA Power->Molex adapter and then a Molex->3-pin/4-pin adapter.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply, minor problem with case intergration.

Pros: Unit still working after 1.5 years, I've had p. supplies that didn't even last that long.

Cons: Had some minor difficulty with getting the power supply into my thermaltake case, related to p. supply fan placement and where it was to be mounted in the case. (I ended up having to flip the power supply and then it was not able to be mounted into the case; it was neither companies fault.)

Other Thoughts: Really like OCZ products.

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding and perfect

Pros: Quiet, extremely spacious, low cost for what you get, etc.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Perfect for what i was needing. I can not express how much a modular power supply has helped keep space efficiency to a maximum in my computer. Great deal.

3 out of 5 eggsAlright. But cables are too short!!

Pros: Powers my computer just fine.

Cons: The cables are way too freakin' short!!! Even for a mid-tower case. They didn't allow me to go around, behind the mother board. I had to settle with having the cables out in the open.
