Ugh, awful smell!
- Pros: Love the black color, matches my case very nicely. The sleeves holding the cords together is clean, its how I like it. Tons of watts, got it at a good price.
- Cons: Within 5 months of using it, purchased in September 2009, I came home and went into my room to an awful smell. I could not locate where the smell was coming from. I was told to check the back of the computer and yes indeed it was the PSU. The computer was still running at this time until I had turned it off. As the computer turned off, smoke was coming out the vents like no other. I tried to start up again, no luck. Swapped PSU with an old 300w PSU to see if it was for sure the PSU, the 300w PSU worked, the OCZ 700w didn't. I will be looking to get a replacement as I have invested a lot of money into this computer and knowing that it is not functioning at this time makes me quite disappointed.
OCZ, please, I would like a replacement with one that would actually last!
Almost Cost Me a House
- Pros: great price
- Cons: This power supply worked great until i got woken up at 3:30am to my smoke alarm going off and smoke pouring out of the back of the power supply... i just hope there is a warranty
