3 out of 5 eggsDead after 4 years

Pros: Ran extremely well during it's first 3 years

Cons: Just out of warranty (3 yrs) it died. Which i guess is why they only warranty it for 3 yrs, it has a 4 yr ecpected life.

4 out of 5 eggsSo so...

Pros: Worked reliably for 4 years.
No power related issues during the lifetime.

Cons: -Died after 4 years of moderate use (see other thoughts for system specs).

-Main capacitor bulged and caused unit to fail.

-Last year of owning this PSU, I noticed coil whine when system was under load.

-Short warranty period.

Other Thoughts: My PSU was powering: (OC'ed i5 - 750 @ 3.2 GHz, 1 x GeForce GTX 660 Ti Superclocked, 3 x 140MM low flow fans, no water pumps, 2 x SSDs, 2 x HDDs).
Will not be buying another one, due to short warranty (only 3 years).

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Power Supply

Pros: I have had this power supply since 5/20/2010 and it's powering strong since then. I have changed my motherboard, memory, processor, hard drives, and videos cards over the past years but have kept this power supply. The date now is 7/19/2014 so this supply has been running almost none stop since then.

Cons: After all these years this thing is still running just fine. I did install one into my friends system and last year his house got hit by lightning and ended up frying the supply. So for now my only (Silly) concern is the supply can't handle a lightning strike.

Other Thoughts: I's been over four years this supply has powered my rig with all the hardware upgrades I have done over the years it's still running strong. Best thing to do every now and then on any hardware that have fans and heat sinks is to blow out all that dust.

3 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Ran for almost 3 years. Cabling idea is fantastic. 3 year warranty :-)

Cons: ran for ALMOST 3 years

Other Thoughts: 2 days ago my PSU went out without any warning and the OCZ website seems to be setup for only SSDs and it will not let me set up an RMA for it. Waiting for them to open so I can try and call. Leaving these comments hoping OCZ will respond. I haven't had any other problems with this unit.

3 out of 5 eggs4 Years of Service

Pros: It made DC power for my computer to run on. Modular connectors are nice. Relatively quiet.

Cons: Failed after 4 years, seems a bit premature. I have power supplies on other computers that are 3 and 4 times as old still going strong. The value of a low purchase price is once again outweighed by a short service life.It would have also been nice to be able to disable the stupid LED lights on the top.

Other Thoughts: It would have also been nice to be able to disable the stupid LED lights on the top.

3 out of 5 eggsRan strong for 4 years

Pros: Easy to install and manage cables. One of the coolest looking power supplies I've seen.

Cons: Died almost exactly 4 years after purchase.

Other Thoughts: Had my PC running almost 24/7 for 4 years. First time I've experienced a power supply failure. When it died it triggered the alarm on my UPS. Everything else still was getting power but my PC would no longer power up.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Quiet, pretty red light, modular connectivity

Cons: Failed unexpectedly after a little over two years.

Other Thoughts: I've owned this power supply since February 2012, and it had zero issues until today when it unexpectedly failed for no explicable reason. Just stopped, no normal signs of wear, no indicators as to why it might have failed. It just stopped.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong

Pros: Have had no issues with this PS yet. I run a Phenom II 940 Black Edition O.C. raid 2 120GB SSDs and 2 750GG HDD, Radeon HD6850 O.C., and a BDRW drive. Never a hiccup with this system. Modular for under $70 that can power all this! I run my system for long hours and have had this PS since 2009. Also very quiet.

Cons: no problems currently in it's 5th year running.

Other Thoughts: I'll be pushing this even further soon. will try and run a second Radeon HD6850 in the next few weeks.

2 out of 5 eggsocz 550 w fatal1ty

Pros: I bought this PSU in 2010 and it ran good for just over 3 yrs.

Cons: This thing ran like a champ for 3 yrs and 2 months then it just died ed. Checked the leads with a meter and found one of the 12 v pin in the 24 pin MB connector had 0 Vs. like some of the other reviews on here, it lasted till just passed the warranty date then died.

Other Thoughts: This will be the last OCZ PSU I buy. Already ordered a Corsair.
