I like it
- Pros: silver rating! Nice cable netting or whatever it's called. Super quiet. Tried PC without any case fans. Super quiet. Quieter than the CPU fan.
- Cons: all four SATA power connectors are on one pig tail. In my case I cannot use two optical drives plus two hard drives, but I should be fine with one of one kind and two of the other. Can power SATA from IDE supply with simple adapter cable from NewEgg. A hard drive I bought a couple of years ago included such an adapter cable.
- Other Thoughts: Use the drawing from the web site, it's better than the manual. Do the math. I compared my usage and electricity cost of this 88% efficiency to a cheap 65% efficiency PS. It will save me $25/year. Hours used per day X days used per year X watts (150 to 400 probably) X $ per 1000 watts ($0.13/Kwatt here). With a five year warranty thats $100 in electricity savings in five years. Good deal.
Excellent PSU
- Pros: *High efficiency (88% and over!)
*VERY quiet, probably the most silent PSU I've ever heard (of the PSUs that have a 120 mm fan) *Virtually no heat generation that I can feel *SLI/Cross ready, which is important as the newer GPUs (ATI 5xxx and the upcoming NVIDIA Fermi cards) require 2 PCI power supplies for one video card *More than enough wattage on the 12V rail to handle any mainstream PC *Active PFC
- Cons: *No reviews around
*A little pricey, but you make your money back quick with the lower electric bill *Not modular
- Other Thoughts: My last PSU was purchased over 3 years ago before the 80+ certification standards were popular. Brand new and in it's prime, my old unit was 60% efficient...yikes! Using my Kill-a-watt wattage meter, my computer with the old PSU was taking over 250 Watts. Now, while doing the same tasks I never go over 150 Watts!!! What an improvement!
Don't cheap out on your PSU, and don't be put off by the lack of reviews. You can save a LOT of money by purchasing an 80+ Silver certified unit. This is an excellent PSU, and as per usual Newegg rocks!
My setup: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX motherboard AMD Phenom II X4 945 Deneb 3.0GHz 95 Watts CPU G.SKILL 2 x 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 NVIDIA 8600 GT Video card Run of the mill SATA DVD-RW and 750 GB harddrive

Lasted a week
- Pros: Was wonderful for a week, quiet, powered the intel 750 and asus P55 motherboard fine.
Then... nothing.
RMA is in the works, so the wait begins.
- Cons: About 1 week later, poof!
Nothing. No lights, no fan, nothing!
RMA is in the works, so the wait begins.
