1 out of 5 eggsOCZ FOR THE FAIL!

Pros: It looked nice, till I hooked it up and it took out my motherboard the memory and the CPU too!

I WROTE THIS TO TRY AND SAVE OTHER PEOPLE FROM BUYING THIS JUNK! I SEE NEW EGG BLOCKS THE HONEST FEEDBACK AS THE FIRST FEW PAGES ARE NOTHING BUT HOW AWESOME THIS UNIT IS. BUYERS BE WARNED!

Cons: CHEAP HARNESS< NEVER TESTED< IF IT WAS THEY WOULD KNOW IT DOES NOT WORK AND WOULD FIX IT. BUT THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE BOTTOM LINE WHICH IS MONEY..............

BE WARNED THESE UNITS ARE JUNK!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: THE 24 pin harness is so cheap, it will not un fold from the factory folding job. CHEAPEST MOLEX PSU I HAVE EVER SEEN!!
OCZ WILL NOT WARRANTY NOR REPLACE THE COMPONENTS THIS UNIT BLEW OUT!!
BE WARNED..........

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Consumer,

The ZX Series 1250W PSU is a high-quality unit designed to provide stability, reliability, low noise, optimized air flow, and efficiency. The stiffness you noticed with the cables is not a sign of cheapness, it is characteristic of the high quality 16ga wire used. Also, Newegg does not block negative feedback - the feedback screen can be sorted by date posted, most helpful, highest rated, lowest rated, and length of ownership. It just happens that this item has overwhelmingly positive reviews from Verified Owners. Newegg adds a "Verified Owner" notation on reviews from users who bought the subject item from Newegg. Your review lacks this notation meaning the review did not pertain to an item purchased via Newegg.

OCZ is glad to assist with problems you have with this PSU. It is important to us that you are satisfied and see value in your purchase. Please contact our Tech Support or Support Forum directly so we can discuss your situation and help however possible. If you have a previous ticket number please include that in your communication.

Sincerely,
OCZ Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat, even considering price

Pros: Got the power supply for a new machine end of 2011. It has been running fine for about a year and a half, no glitches, and does not get warm. Could be more quiet (considering how much it costs), but it's pretty quiet already.

Cons: price

5 out of 5 eggs"Big River" pricing mistake

Pros: Bought this when it first came out. That big river website accidently priced it as its 850w price.

This PSU powered my 3930k @ 4.9 ghz and TWO 580 lightings OC'd to 950. It never warmed up enough to think twice about. 100% modular. Great for cable management. I will buy OCZ psu's as long as they put them out at this quality.

Cons: CPU power cable was hooked up to an extension supplied by Corsair. Coupling suddenly created resistance. Completely melted together.

****Pro I had a second CPU power cable that came with the PSU

Other Thoughts: Comes with a funny Gold Certificate....

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice PSU

Pros: I love the amount of power this thing can handle, with an overclocked CPU and 3 GTX 670's it definitely is a fantastic thing to have more power than you can pull.

Looks: the cable sleeving is a low density weave, you can see the underlying cables and the shrink wrap is pretty far back from the connectors. If you mount it with the fan mounted down the side of the PSU looks nice but there is a TON of stickers if you want to mount it fan up.
Other than that i like the color and material quality of the shroud (outer shell)

Sound: it's Super Quiet...

Cons: The power supply is missing the surge protection component that comes with the competitors high end psu's in the 1200w category, but the price drop vs. competitors is almost exactly equal the amount of difference that the protective ring would cost to have been added.

he cable sleeving is a low density weave, you can see the underlying cables and the shrink wrap is pretty far back from the connectors.

Down one egg for needing an expensive suppressor.

Other Thoughts: They clearly cut corners to make this 1250w PSU available @ $200~ but that exactly what i wanted, loss of a few bells and whistles for a budget friendly high end PSU

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product for the price

Pros: Competitively priced. Attractive design. Plenty of modular cables, particularly GPU cables. Compact. Big power for advanced systems.

Cons: Would prefer cable ends to all be black, cable sleeves to be darker and more concealing. No LEDs whatsoever - but those complaints are just style things.

Other Thoughts: This was a great purchase for my system. The modular design keeps things clutter free. As mentioned in the cons section, there's no LEDs to light anything up, but that is purely a style consideration, and the design might be preferable to someone else. I guess I'm just used to the blue LED in the fan of my previous power supply that complimented my system nicely.

All in all, no regrets with this purchase whatsoever.

5 out of 5 eggsFAST to setup!!!!

Pros: This was ridiculously fast to setup, once I had my older 600W out of my case, the OCZ ZX Series (mine was the 1250W version) was in and up and running in less than 5 minutes. Course this isn't the first power supply I've installed, but this is by far the most powerful and the fastest to set up.

Very nice they have "show off" material, suited for people with cases with power supplies mounted on the top or bottom, and the "show off" badge is still visible. (not that I care all that much about looks, but I do care about functionality, and this power supply should power triple SLI/Crossfire with a bit of headroom, which is a plus, it's always better to have more power than lower.

Cons: I was stunned the cables weren't as long as I wanted them to be, but not a terrible thing, I just adjusted my cabling.

(originally the 600W power supply that I was using prior, was a non-modular power supply that had cables that were long enough to do a nice wire-tuck job on it)

Not a deal breaker, but I wonder if I could buy a set of longer cables :) I just need a longer Motherboard 20pin cable and CPU power 4pin(x2) cable maybe 4-5 inches longer on both, and I would be a very happy customer :)

Other Thoughts: Don't skimp on your power supply, buy OZ Series, you'll love how fast it is to setup.

4 out of 5 eggs Short Cables

Pros: Looks great in my corsair 800d and had no problem powering it up and using it. Quiet fan and cables are sleeved pretty well.

Cons: The cpu cable is pretty short and I had to route it through the front of my case. Also had a little whining nose when I plugged it in but it is gone now.

1 out of 5 eggsOCZ-ZX1250W

Pros: Cool modular design and exterior colors.

Cons: Had OCZ 850 watt supply for six years. When it died I decided to order another OCZ. So I ordered this 1250 Watt. Began having problems almost immediately. The power supply just kept suddenly shutting down at random times. Just acted like some one pulled the plug with no warning. Some times it would run for two hours and sometimes it would run for 30 seconds before shutting down. Tried an Antec 750 in the computer and it was rock solid. After reading other reviews it seems that this supply has problems. Have RMA it to Newegg and will not get another OCZ supply.

Other Thoughts: For $200+ this power supply should be reliable and fully tested at the factory. It should not have these kinds of problems.
