- Pros: Nice, easy to use, low power consumption. Easily concealable.
- Cons: Can run HOT, a fan would be nice. Don't lose the software key or you cannot access the device.
- Pros: If I could afford to buy whatever I want, there's plenty of other options, but for the price I couldn't be happier. I bought this product from Newegg over 2 years ago and it's still going strong, with the same WD3000JB-00K hard drive. I use it with XP and Vista, using the Ximeta drivers, and it works like a champ. Zero problems.
- Cons: The enclosure gets pretty warm. I think it's because the hdd never stops spinning. The front LED sometimes stops working, but I really don't care.
- Other Thoughts: I've collected a lot of data (pictures, music, etc) that I'd hate to loose and I want to move to a RAID NAS. Because of my success with this product, I'm heavily considering buying a second and building a RAID 1 array. It's a very inexpensive solution and I haven't had any problems yet.
APPARENTLY HIGH FAILURE RATE
- Pros: No technical problems while operating.
- Cons: 1. The logo display is too bright.
2. The case was too hot while running. Most likely need a powerful cooling fan.
3. Failed after 6 months of light use. The replacement (prompt) by Newegg does not have any further replacement coverage.
4. I notice that other customers have similar problems.
- Other Thoughts: Would not recommend to anyone until they fix the overheating and failure problems.
