5 out of 5 eggsThese are really great quality batteries.

Pros: I use these on my relatively high power bicycle lights, front and rear. 1 or 2 hours every day, year-round. I charge them every other day. The first set lasted me more than 3 years, when a couple of the 8 batteries started to get weaker. You do the math. That is way more than normal life.

Cons: putting them into the battery holders again and again---the labels split and come off in time as do the plastic end pieces on the top. This does not affect their performance in any way, but makes them look old and dilapidated, when they are still good.

Other Thoughts: I would definitively recommend these batteries to anybody that needs high power and long life.

5 out of 5 eggsthese are best, so stop with the analysis paralysis

Pros: Massive longevity from full charges, deliver on the mAh rating, only need an occasional refresh cycle and bounce right back, unlike most others where a refresh is certain every other full discharge.

Cons: The batteries are completely solid and 100% my favorites out of all the rechargeables I have floating around. The only con is the useless flimsy plastic case they come in. If they don't break during delivery (Newegg?), then they're sure as hell going to soon. Every one I have (~6 at least) is cracked or completely broken. For such a premium battery, the case is totally unworthy.

Other Thoughts: Buy these Powerex batteries, and consider the case throw-away packaging.

2 out of 5 eggsnot the best

Pros: they worked well for about a year.

Cons: they worked well for about a year.

Other Thoughts: i have seven year old, standard 2400 mah batteries that have been charged many more times that these and work better than these do currently and even hold a charge longer than these do, at this point.

i can slow charge these batteries on my maha c808m (which i bought the same day that i bought these batteries and they have never been charged in any other charger and always slow charged.) and after three days on the shelf, they are completely dead.
even putting the batteries into use directly after a full charge they drain faster than my old 2400's that are nearly a decade old and have been charged many more times than the powerex's.

i'd like to find some more of those 2400's, the purple and yellow ones.

it doesn't make a difference if you use these batteries a lot or not at all, they are useless for all practical purposes after two years, regardless of treatment. this is a fact that many people here have attested to, long before i took the time to say anything so i am just reaffirming this fact. anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar or has owned the product less than a year.

3 out of 5 eggsBring back the dead

Pros: Not an owner of this specific model of battery but of some by the same company.

Cons: None - haven't tried them

Other Thoughts: Jeffery M. had a nice and extensive review as did several others. He noted the inability to bring back some of these batteries after the MAHA charger reads HIGH. I have found with other batteries that using a LaCrosse charger for those who read HIGH on the MAHA or using the MAHA charger for those which read NULL on the LaCrosse may come back about 60% of the time. It may be worth a try. I have found however that once I get a HIGH or NULL reading, the battery's days are probably numbered. The amount of charge the battery will hold starts to degrade rather quickly from this point. In a pinch, however, you can still squeeze some use out of an older or failing battery this way.

2 out of 5 eggsexpect 2 years of use only

Pros: stable performance for ~2 years

Cons: 1. None of my 30+ batteries was able to hold 2700mah. reality is close to 2400-2500
2. After ~2 years they started to die with HIGH reading on the charger.
3. They do not hold charge when idle.
4. none was even close to 100 recharges

Other Thoughts: will try Sanyo (non-enerloop) or Energizer this time

1 out of 5 eggsLongevity Issues

Pros: They are quite useful for the first ~2 years and provide a higher capacity than most alternatives. Even with premature failures still a WAY better deal than non-rechargeables.

Cons: They seem to have longevity issues. Their lifespan seems to be around 2 years. At some point around 18 to 30 months of regular use they began to cause low voltage issues. This was due to them no longer properly charging properly. None have come close to the realm of 250+ charge/use cycles before failure. None registered past 2375 mAh of capacity at that point in time (reading from C9000 refresh cycle).

Other Thoughts: I'll speculate that I'm one of the few people who has provided much feedback on a ~2-3 year old purchase. I purchased 36 of these batteries between mid 2010 and early 2011. I also purchased Maha's C9000 and C800 chargers and these batteries have never been charged in any other charger. About 18 months ago I started having sporadic, then increasingly common, under-voltage issues on a variety of devices. Most at issue was the vertical control grip of my Nikon D700, which would simply drop out as a power source very early in its use. I ran form, refresh, and condition scenarios on them and came to the conclusion that about 12 of them would only register "HIGH" on the C9000 charger. No effort to coax them back into use was effective and was candidly a wasted effort, unjustified in the value of my time. It's now mid 2013 and I've gradually ditched a few more of them (due to "HIGH" on the C9000 charger) over time and am down to 16 of them that will hold a 2200-2375 mAh for a relatively short period of time (days). They aren't worth the time or concern anymore and I've ordered replacements, switching to the Eneloops which are credited with having a longer lifespan and substantially better shelf life. I'm just not into making sure that everything has been charged within 48 hours before heading out the door. Some research online will confirm that many have experienced similar relatively short lifespans from these cells. If you'll be satisfied with 2 or MAYBE 3 years of utility from them then they are a good purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsLove 'em

Pros: They have a HUGE capacity. Carrying case is convenient, if not super sturdy. I use them in hot shoe flashes, which requires a very fast recycle time and these are the the bomb dot com.

Cons: Takes a long time to get a full charge, which comes with the territory, but don't expect to charge 24 batteries with an 8 battery charger the day before an event.
