5 out of 5 eggsPretty cool

Pros: I mean it works. Fast, too. I've got a mouse that eats batteries.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Might want one that does single batteries.

1 out of 5 eggsMight not last very long... mine didn't

Pros: - the features are terrific... BUT...

Cons: - the first one arrived DOA. Customer SVC was great tho.
- the second one died after 11 mos of use.

Other Thoughts: I am basing this review on a very similar Maha 4-position charger product which has the same set of features. Your mileage may vary, of course, but I was disconcerted by the fact that the two units I received both died; the first immediately, the second just before the warranty ran out.

I also found that the PowerEx cells, while super-powerful and high-capacity, also seem to be more susceptible to getting killed by discharging too long (reversal effects and so forth). They're a bit delicate, shall we say. They're also terrific, but just be gentle with them. Don't put them in your R/C remote control then leave the thing switched on by mistake for a week, in the toy closet :-)

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It does what it says but sometimes has an issue when charging 4 batteries at once. You will sometimes need to do 2 at a time for it to work

Cons: Which it could charge all 4 batteries every time with no issue

5 out of 5 eggsBest I Have Owned

Pros: This isn't my first charger. But it is by far the best I've ever owned. Does everything it promises to do. Have used over 500 times since buying. Still works like a charm. Charged everytning from 1800 mha to 2700 mha. New batteries to ones 3 years old.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: Would make a great gift.

5 out of 5 eggsSome confusion here

Pros: The Powerex MH-C204FA appears to be a later version of the Maha MH-C204F. It's the earlier version that I own and like other Maha chargers it's excellent. The conditioning feature is useful for restoring aging cells, though that's not as necessary with NiMH cells as it is with the older NiCd type.

Cons: This charger only charges or reconditions cells in pairs. One of the reviewers here appears to have it confused with the Maha/Powerex MH-C401FS, which does charge the cells individually and does not have the conditioning feature.

Other Thoughts: Both are excellent chargers, I own both types, but I prefer the MH-C401FS because of its individual charging circuits (cells become different as they age and don't charge at the same rate) and the fact that it has fast and slow charging selected by switch, which this model does not have.

4 out of 5 eggsCaution

Pros: Caution

Cons: Caution

Other Thoughts: I had a Maha previously, and I wasn't careful when looking at this one. I "assumed" this one had individual charging cells, i.e., 1 per battery. Unfortunately, it requires 2 batteries per cell in order to charge. My fault, but the description could have been clearer.
But as far as I can tell, it works well for what it is.
