Endless programming possibilities - 29 selectable charging and discharging rate. Charging current from 0.2A to 2.0A and discharging current from 0.1A to 1.0A in 0.1A increments.

Five modes of operation:

1) Charge - Recharges the battery at the selected rate.

2) Refresh & Analyze - Charges the battery, rest for one hour, discharge, rest again, then recharges it. Selectable charging and discharging rate.

3) Break-In - Also known as IEC capacity measurement and "Battery Forming". Charges battery at 0.1C for 16 hours, rest for one hour, discharges battery at 0.2C, then recharges again at 0.1C for 16 hours.

4) Discharge - Discharges the battery at the selected rate.

5) Cycle - Performs charge-discharge cycle for up to 12 times with discharge capacity stored in memory. Recharges battery after final cycle.

Battery Matching - Battery matching refers to grouping batteries with similar “actual” capacity. To perform this, use the Refresh & Analyze mode to determine the battery capacity. Group batteries with capacity within about +/- 5% of the rated capacity.

Battery Forming - Battery forming is a charge-discharge-charge cycle which forces a full charge into the battery at a very slow rate. This process activates the battery. In certain cases, it needs to be repeated two or three times.

Worldwide 100-240V switching adapter - light weight and small. Also compatible with 12V input. Will work on car when used with the optional cigarette lighter adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWell worth the money

Pros: I use a lot of rechargeable batteries at home and with the audio system at church. The batteries in the wireless microphones were not lasting nearly as long as they should. When I tested and refreshed with this charger, I was able to identify the batteries causing the problems. I was also able to match up batteries by mAh and now the batteries last much longer in the microphones. The refresh cycle brought some of the older rechargeable batteries back to life. Some of them resulted in an error and I was able to weed out the defective batteries. Also, now I can test new batteries and make the best choice in purchasing. Was surprised at how some of the brand name batteries have the capacity overrated by the manufacturer. The Powerex batteries that came with this charger are top-notch. You can believe the 2700mAh rating on these.

Cons: Sometimes I like to complain but even if I was in one of those moods, I could find no fault in this product.

Other Thoughts: If you use rechargeables in everything like I do, you need a good charger/analyzer. Got this on sale but even at regular price, it is worth the money.

5 out of 5 eggsSaves me lots of money!!!

Pros: Great product and has saved me $$$$!

Cons: The different settings can be confusing and overwhelming. I find myself constantly referring to the manual. It is not intuitive, thus I keep the manual nearby for reference. And some settings take a long time to charge!

Other Thoughts: I got it with an extra eight pack of batteries for a total of 12 batteries. Despite the aforementioned cons, it is saving me money, and I recommend this product.

1 out of 5 eggsMore hype than power

Pros: Gives readings on Volts and mAh

Cons: Expensive and directions very confusing. Had to do a google search to find a video on how to use.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to refresh and analyze my old batteries. Problem is ... when I put in most old batteries (which charge fine in a normal charger), it gives me a HIGH reading, or just cycles trying to start. It works fine with brand new Powerex batteries, but I do not need an expensive charger for new batteries. I foolishly bought a second, thinking it was the charger. I might get longer life from the new batteries, but that is yet to be seen.

5 out of 5 eggsA Very Smart Charger

Pros: - Four (4) independent charging ports with multiple options

- Came with four (4) rechargeable batteries

- Great price from newegg (when on sale)

Cons: - Slight learning curve

- Display is as bright as a small sun

Other Thoughts: Excellent charger at a great (sale) price. I read all the previous reviews before purchase and have little to add. I would recommend a reading of the enclosed usage instructions for a better understanding of mode possibilities, especially if you're trying to revitalize "dead" batteries. Also, note that when more than one port is in use, pressing the "Slot" button rotates the information being shown in the display. Ahhh, and wear sunglasses, as the display is incredibly bright (I need to cover it at night in order to sleep ;-).

5 out of 5 eggsPowerex Charger-Analyzer

Pros: I had some old batteries that an inexpensive "quick" charger didn't work on. Followed the instructions with this and it brought them back to life using the slow charge, drain, recharge cycles. Works as advertised.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Screen is hard to read unless looked at from a 90 degree angle, but that's a simple thing to avoid.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent device

Pros: Does everything that it claims.
Refreshes old batteries and reports the actual mAh per battery.
Intuitive user interface. Each battery bay is individually controlled.
Easy to use. Gives suggested parameters so you don't have to be a battery expert to figure out what to do.
Lighted display panel is great.

Cons: None. I am extremely satisfied.

Other Thoughts: I was deciding between this versus another popular competing brand. I'm glad I went with this because it has worked flawlessly.

5 out of 5 eggsLOVE IT!

Pros: I'm not a battery expert, but this thing ROCKS. I love that it has so many options for charging, analyzing, and refreshing batteries. I've had one at home for several years, and just bought another for use at church (to keep our wireless mics charged).

Cons: None, except maybe it's just a little expensive. But it's cheaper in the long run, since you'll never have to buy another charger, and it won't screw up your batteries by overcharging them.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Works as described. I have used it with the batteries that came with it and some older Kodak rechargeable AA's I thought were too far gone and they all work fine. The analysis and break in modes are especially useful.

Cons: If you live where there are power outages or if you have to move the unit to another outlet you are out of luck as the selected charging mode is forgotten and resets to simple charge.

Other Thoughts: I purchased a cheap low capacity UPS back up and now keep the charger attached to it while in use. This avoids the surge or power outage reset problem I mentioned above. Do this is you live in FL or another thunderstorm prone region. When wedded together makes a nifty recharge station!

5 out of 5 eggsAll-Around Nice

Pros: Quality construction, very full-featured. Programming is very easy.

Cons: Viewing angle for the display is rather narrow. A minor issue.

Other Thoughts: Has been running 2 weeks straight rejuvenating my old AA cells. Only gets warm when the charge cycle gets near the end.
