3 out of 5 eggsAwkward Docking

Pros: USB3 capable. Decent price. Works fine for 2TB or smaller drives.

Cons: Doesn't appear to support drives larger than 2TB. Door to drive connectors slides, making for awkward, 2 handed insertion of drives.

Other Thoughts: Docking stations of this type that have a hinged flap that drops down when drive is inserted is a better design than sliding cover on this model.

3 out of 5 eggsUSB 3.0 but no 3TB support?!

Pros: The interfaces are very fast

Cons: Doesn't support 3TB drives. They show up as ~750GB. Tested this in Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. I don't have this issue with a retail 3TB external drive. As far as widespread availability, 3TB became more popular before USB 3.0, so this is a silly design flaw I didn't expect.

Other Thoughts: The piece I have is the same exact "item code" yet the box and unit itself appear different.
I'm not much of an "external drive guy" so I'm overall happy with this product for what I paid. This is a lesson though; if one is going to keep this much data, they should use a proper NAS or RAID system.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent toaster for the price

Pros: Simple, fast and very affordable. This is a nice dock for quick & dirty drive backups, transfers, imaging, etc. No frills, but some cool lights for power and activity, and a dustcover that keeps the dock clean when empty.

Cons: The dustcover/door is spring loaded, and very manual. When you pull a HDD out, this thing will SLAM shut loudly with enthusiasm. IT's also a little tough to pry (and hold) the door open until you get a drive inserted to basically prop the spring door open. A little cheap and lame, and I'm concerned about the longevity of this design. Also, this unit has no cooling of any form, so be mindful when you but a 3.5" hard drive in it for extended periods... without air moving over them, modern hard drives get pretty toasty.

Other Thoughts: Cheap as chips - quick and dirty. Does the job, one hard drive at a time.
