1 out of 5 eggsNot a charging station

Pros: nice hub.

Cons: Doesn't actually charge anything unless plugged into computer. Only plugging in AC doesn't allow iPad or Nexus to charge. It's a hub not a charging station

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect small Hub

Pros: - The individual switches.
- Led light indicator for each port.
- Compact size.
- Stand alone charging station

Cons: None, so far! I'll post if anything goes wrong with this Hub.

Other Thoughts: I have just received this product, which arrived, as usual very fast and in good condition from New Egg. It seems the unit does what it claims to do at this site. I checked couple of negative comments and ratings about this hub and found no ground for these claims. False!
The connection is quite fast and everything I plugged in, worked flawlessly. The unit can charge my Phillips GoGear - ARIAZ 16GB mp3 player perfectly. It may not be able to charge other devices and you have to refer to your device User's Manual. Bottom line, it's a good buy and I'll post another comment if anything went wrong with this unit within the next month or so.

1 out of 5 eggsHorribly Underpowered For Its Stated Purpose

Pros: Individually switched outlets. Decent concept, though stymied by poor execution. Was really going to save me some hassles dealing with multiple charging wall warts if it actually served its purpose.

Cons: Although this thing is billed as a "charging station", it's really just a USB hub with some power switches. The 500 milliamps per port this thing puts out is laughable and is not adequate to provide a 100% charge on any of my devices.

Other Thoughts: I received this as a gift and was quite excited until I discovered its crippling limitations. I will be seeking to exchange it for something that works.

1 out of 5 eggsPIECE OF JUNK

Pros: None

Cons: Described as stand lone USB charging station, it can't even charge an iPhone. Nothing I plugged to it would charge, this is basically a $23 no powered hub. DO NOT buy.

1 out of 5 eggsCaused serious power issues, perhaps damage

Pros: Seems like an affordable 7 port powered switch. The ability to turn individual ports on and off is unnecessary but a nice feature

Cons: Broke after one week of use, and in a very bad way. Started causing my computer (a 2009 Mac Pro) to power cycle continuously when I had it plugged in. I'm not sure what caused it since I'm a software guy, but this seems very similar to a review left by user Zamudio, who thinks that it was feeding back power over what was supposed to be data. If true that's bad!! Fortunately nothing else seems to be damaged, but I'm not sure.

Other Thoughts: I'd be very weary of using this switch. It seems to work for a lot of people, but when it goes wrong, it could potentially take some of your hardware with it!

1 out of 5 eggsDangerous

Pros: It looks really well built, it has a rubberized feel to it, and the possiblity to select which usb is powered on is amazing, and it looks really cool on my desktop, it works great charging my usb devices, and it was practila as hell to have it sitting on the monitor's base.

Cons: I started having start up issues with my p9x79 ws mobo, since I had some bad luck with mobos in the past, I thought I just had to RMA another one.

Since I already knew the steps to try to figre out what's wrong with a mobo, I started unplugging everything from it, first I thought it was power related, so, I unplugged the power supply and to my surprise the mobo was still lit up (all the leds on it) that had me puzzled!! So, I discconeted this and to my surprise, the mobo shut down as it supposed to be. Plugged the power supply again and everything started up perfectly.

This thing sends back power through the USB that's supposed to be used just for data, even when it's shut down, thankfully (hopefully) it didn't damaged my damaged it. BUT I have to say, it probably messed up my Nexus 3 battery or connector, since I had to take it back for service.

Other Thoughts: Now it just sits there collecting dust and charging the ocassional usb device, quite a shame since i was really really enjoying this product, Not worth the RMA IMO

4 out of 5 eggsPerfection

Pros: I am VERY pleased with this hub. Plugged it into the PC without the external power and was able to run two flash drives and two mice with no problems. Also had a self powered printer attached as well.

The power switches are stiff, so I am not too concerned with accidental switching.

Cons: The USB port could be tighter, just a little too lose in my opinion. Possible to accidentally disconnect.

Other Thoughts: This was purchased for a customer to replace a four port hub. He only uses four of the ports giving him another three to play with.
