5 out of 5 eggsKeeps on chuggin'

Pros: Quiet and reliable. Great power supply for an audio rig.

Cons: Ugly, but who cares--it's buried!

Other Thoughts: Bought this mainly for its electrical performance (good voltage regulation, low ripple and noise) for audio. The fan started getting a bit loud, so I opened up the PSU (warranty long since expired) and replaced it with a Noctua NF-R8, which I connected to the MB. Now this unit is silent. Newer setup with Haswell CPU uses very little power, so the PSU does not need a high speed fan to stay cool. Makes me think it will last at least another 5-6 years easy. First generation Earthwatts series (EA380, EA430 and EA500) were made by Seasonic and are all very good.

5 out of 5 eggsMore than enough power

Pros: Typical Antec quality, still going strong after over 6 years. At its peak, powered a quad-core Phenom II and a GTS 250 plus multiple drives and other accessories without issue.

Cons: Not modular, but not a reasonable expectation for the price range.

Other Thoughts: I've had nothing but good experiences with the Earthwatts line over the years, this was the first of many happy purchases.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problem after 4+ Years

Pros: Although these are no longer available for purchase new, I thought I’d throw out my two cents since these can always be picked up second hand.

I own two of these (both purchased in 2008) and have them installed in two separate computers. I have never had a single problem with either one. Both systems are not “High End” as they are used for mostly for internet surfing and very mild gaming. One system does have a HIS HDMI video card requiring the use of the PCI-E connector and still, no problems. All the cables are adequate length for my systems, both of which are ATX Mid-towers.

One thing that may have help me out was is that I am very adamant about tearing down and cleaning the internals of my systems approximately every three months, to include blowing out and/or vacuuming out the power supply. It may just be a coincidence, but I feel this practice has alleviated any major electrical problems over the years…knock on wood.

I would not hesitate to purchase an Antec power supply for a future build.

5 out of 5 eggsQUIET AND STABLE

Pros: Quiet fan. Has worked great for 4 years. Works fine with my heavily overclocked E5200.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: First one i got was a dud after a few months. It did not damage any other components when it died, and Newegg's RMA was very easy to work with.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PS

Pros: QUIET
A lot of connectors
High efficiency
Price
NO problems so far

Cons: The 4-Pin ATX 12V is my issue. Wish it was a little longer since the PS is mounted on the bottom of my case and the 4-Pin ATX 12V connector on the motherboard is at the top of my case. It makes the distance but has to dodge underneath my graphics card near the expansion slots and is a little taught. I have the Antec 300 ATX Mid tower.

Other Thoughts: NO issues, easy installation, reliable so far (7months), and plenty of connectors. Only thing was the length of the 4-Pin ATX 12V, but it still reaches fine and can't really complain about something that gets the job done. Everything else makes up for it anyway...

1 out of 5 eggsDOA on arrival

Pros: It looked very nice in the box.

Cons: I just installed it and it does not work. I have to call Antec for an RMA and probably pay for shipping as well.

Other Thoughts: My old power power supply went out about a month ago. I bought this new one and installed. The computer didn't work. I suspected the motherboard got hit at the same time the PSU did so I searched for a new motherboard and found the same model. Still didn't work. I borrowed an old power supply from a buddy and it worked. Kinda sucks I spent extra bucks on something I didn't need, but I just didn't suspect a new PSU to be bad. First time that has happened to me. I gotta call Antec (since I already sent in the rebate) and figure out how to RMA.

5 out of 5 eggsnot bad at all

Pros: very nice and quiet, does a wonderful job on an average system. had it for 2 years now and still chugging along just fine.

Cons: nada

Other Thoughts: if you're looking to get any of the newer video cards, keep in mind that most of them require minimum 450w

5 out of 5 eggs430W is all you need... seriously

Pros: Contrary to all this hype from review sites, 430w is all the power you need. As long as its antec power.
Quiet
Runs 24/7 for 2.5 years strong

Cons: Not free

Other Thoughts: This thing powers my rig which even at full load uses 320W max (according to kill-a-watt). Here it is:

Q9550 @ 3.4ghz quad core
2x 5750 in crossfire
5 hard drives
1 Blu-ray drive
6GB ram
Sound card

Even the 320W was almost impossible to get to - Prime95 while playing heaven benchmark in crossfire WHILE copying blu-ray movie to my raid array. Would you ever do this in real life? Never.

5 out of 5 eggsperfect single vid card power supply

Pros: The amp and volt tolorance on each of the rails are increadible! Just look at the specs and compare them to a good 256bit vid card min requirements.

More than enough to give steady juice to any singe vid card gaming system.

I bought it almost 2 years ago for an E-Machine with a PCI-e slot. Wanted to replace the ram with Kingston HyperX and install a geforce 8800GTX. This power supply took care of business. No problems.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: perfect for older systems that need a kick

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: The metal box it came with prevents parts from falling out of it. But all power supplies are in a metal boxs but the metal box on other drives serves a different purpose. It protects WORKING parts in a PS.

Cons: I have only had to rma 3 times or 4 times. Apparently you cant submit a review with zero eggs.

Other Thoughts: I can't explain why I have such trouble with these. The case it had all the problems with has an interior temp of 30c almost always. One video card and 1394 card. I started with one drive plus a dvd burner and I added another drive. Not taxing stuff. Since then I added a couple of new drives with the enermax that replaced it( of course no problem with the enermax). I put the thing in a linux box about a year ago (amd xp2200/MSI KT3 Ultra 2/gig ram) and it has not been a problem but now I am having booting issues, some times it boots and sometimes it doesn't. I wonder it is not the culprit???
