5 out of 5 eggsUPDATE

Pros: this was a great psu. I purchased in 2008 and just today 7-11-14 finally gave in and stopped working. sad day indeed.

Cons: none really. handled everything i threw at it. fan was a lil loud at times but was under HEAVY load.

Other Thoughts: i hope my next psu lasts as long as this one did.

3 out of 5 eggsOK Overall

Pros: Good variety of cables, great power supply. Never had power related issues.

Cons: SATA Power connectors are not of good quality. I've had 3 connectors break on the top side from very minimal contact. I never used excessive force especially after my first one broke and they just keep breaking.

Other Thoughts: I would of liked more SATA power connectors instead of the excessive amount of molex connectors.

5 out of 5 eggsI love antec

Pros: Ran like a champ for three years or heavy load.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: It died just over three years of use. Antec accepted my RMA and is replacing it. They have my business for life.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid PSU

Pros: This power supply gave me solid power for 3 years and 8 months, then it finally died. Just put in for an RMA replacement. It has a 5 year warranty so I'm expecting to get a new one back.

Cons: Finally died, but under warranty. Score.

Other Thoughts: Antec makes the very best PSUs.

3 out of 5 eggsGood power when it works

Pros: It worked for a year before any problems. Support is fast and friendly

Cons: I was sent a new one after it went out on the 2nd year of use, and a year later it went out again. Each time it went out it caused many other problems and parts to be replaced, and I junked it earlier this year rather than bother with trying a new one.

Other Thoughts: I have always thought highly of Antec, but after the mess that I went through with troubleshooting and replacement of many parts due to PS failure, I am looking at other options for future customers.

5 out of 5 eggsHas been a gaming work horse

Pros: Has been steady and reliable since I built my gaming PC in 2008. While I did experience some issues when playing around with over-clocking, which I dont really do anymore, when I left things at stock settings, I NEVER had an issue. My system is older and has only recieved upgrades to the CPU, MB and Memory. I am running two 8800 GTS in SLI mode and I have never had an issue with power or stability.

Cons: Cables can be in issue in a full tower.

Other Thoughts: After four years of great service, I think this PSU has finally had it. As of June/2012, I have been experiencing power issues where the PC will not load past POST and will fail to supply power to one of my graphics cards. Sometimes there does not appear to be an issue and sometimes there is. RMA was requested and approved as I still had about 6 months of warranty left. They upgraded me to the TPQ-1200 since this is out of production. The RMA process was fast and I definatley appreciate the customer service. Thank you and I will be back.

2 out of 5 eggsWas Promising

Pros: Runs quiet, looks solid, has almost all the features you need, nice removable cables, you use the cables you need and remove the ones you don't for a more clean looking case.

Cons: Didn't last as long as I'd hoped. Purchase around 11/7/2008, it just suddenly blew out in 10/2011. Under moderate usage, when it blew it, it blew the fuse in the area of my house and it made a loud pop noise, so I was startled. I initially wasn't sure what happened, but since I was working on the computer at the time, I went back and the computer wouldn't turn on. I already suspected from my experience that the PSU was suspect. I put in the Antec 850W that I had purchased at the same time as this one and had built 2 pc's at the same time. That one still works till this day and so I put it in this one since the other one is my son's and he uses his computer probably more than mine and it worked. In a market for another PSU unfortunately.

Other Thoughts: My guess would be that the 1000w isn't as reliable as the 850w model in the long run. Both from the same model line just wattage difference, same features. Both bronze certified.

Manufacturer Response:

I deeply apologize for the malfunction. Our power supplies are pretty reliable across all product series. However, as with every product, there may be issues here and there. Luckily your PSU is covered under warranty and we'd be happy to get you a replacement. You may file a ticket here: We await your submission and thank you for being a valued customer.

3 out of 5 eggsLasted about a Year

Pros: Nice power. stable. Replaced two CAPS after squealing started and voltages started to dip. caught it before it did any serious damage.

Cons: Went out after a year. I opened it up and replaced the two bad CAPS and now its back up and running.

Other Thoughts: After replacing the two Capacitors on the board which caused Oscillation. works great again. caught it in time! heard a faint squealing from the transformer inside. the next day it was really loud. checked voltages and they were so bad i am surprised it started up.
