4 out of 5 eggsIt isn't as modular as I was expecting

Pros: It's a power supply so not many chances for a 'pro'. And currently waiting for my replacement, so not even sure about stability or anything yet

Cons: It could just be that I haven't bought a PSU in a while. But when i read 'Modular' I assume that means 70-90% of the cords are going to actually be modular.

With this PSU, really the only modular parts are a few sata power cables, and the 2 6pin connectors. It really messed up my cable management.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if its because i've been buying from newegg for years, for thousands of dollars worth of stuff, and have only needed to return 2 or 3 things. Or if this item has just had enough problems for them to expedite things. But either way, the whole RMA process took maybe 3 minutes(on my phone or it would have been much less).

I didn't even have to wait for my request to be looked over. I love you newegg!!

Any time i need to return something to someone, other than newegg, it always turns into a 3 week ordeal. 1 week just to fill out all the bloody paper work, and 2 more to get a response..

I hate the allowed word list though.. had to rewrite like 5 sentences lol

1 out of 5 eggsBlew up my MOBO and itself

Pros: Not any because it's a power supply and it worked for a little bit.

Cons: After a couple months my PC starting having weird hiccups and became very unstable. I then did some diagnostics and came to find that my new i7 quad core CPU was running at 100*C. Then about a week later the power supply stopped all together. I had to then go out and buy a new one immediately and all the problems stopped except my motherboard now has some issues with playing sounds (it kinda pops/ cuts off).

Other Thoughts: Went and bought a Corsair and haven't had a problem and luckily my motherboard still is working...at least somewhat since I have not had a chance to send it in to be repaired because of the complete pain the backside that it is. Basically cost me a lot of inconvenience and about $200 when all said and done.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: This is a great power supply and it looks good while doing its job. Plenty of cables and and some of them are modular so you can run your cables very cleanly. Very affordable.

Cons: Didn't make me a sandwich.

Other Thoughts: Great unit for a great price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy,

Pros: Nice semi modular design. Cables are much easier to manage compared to my older PSU.

Cons: Some connectors don't fit in as easily of others. I'm not sure why this is, but some don't fit snug.

Other Thoughts: powering:
Intel 3570k
2 x Radeon HD 6850
8 GB Patriot RAM
z77-g45 mobo

Hope it has a long life

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: Awesome. I'm going on year 3 with this thing, and I have pushed it hard. Ran 2 480's at one point on it. Currently running a 670. It has never so much as flinched. Definitely a winner, and I'm sad that it has been discontinued.

Cons: None, really. Rock solid.

Other Thoughts: Just decided to writer another review on this. I can't stress enough how reliable this has been for me. I've pushed it extremely hard at times, and it never ceases to amaze me.

5 out of 5 eggsgood while it lasted

Pros: Awesome while it lasted.

Ran everything without a hitch.

Bought 12/2010
dead: 7/2012

Cons: I have thermaltake that's powering my auxiliary rig and it's been going since 2007. Less than 2 years out of a power supply is unacceptable.

Other Thoughts: sticking to corsair or thermaltake.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong

Pros: Firstly the supply has lasted about 2 years now and I'm the kinda person to leave my box on 24/7. So I'm pleased.

This unit appears to live up to its name so far as efficiency is concerned. Kill-a-watt measures around 112 w idle and I can't seem to get the power to pull above 145 w stressing my vid card (hd 6870) and cpu (phenom x4 at OC'd at 3.6).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Recently bought the kill-a-watt meter and was surprised that the power consumption was not higher; then again only 1 hdd and dvd drive, fan controller and 2 aftermarket case fans.
