5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU so far so good

Pros: I have this power supply and it's running perfectly as intended. Has plenty of extra cables, long cables and powers everything I need it to. I mainly got it to future proof for upgrades as I wanted to have a ton of fans, maybe upgrade my motherboard and go tri/quad SLI eventually. Water cooling is a potential for the future too. That having been said, so far so good. I know some folks got a lemon and aren't too happy about it but you can always test a PSU prior to letting it connect with your components. This PSU is a silver rated but it's just shy of being gold. It's solid.

Cons: None at this point. Maybe just the fact that the thing is huge.

Other Thoughts: Might as well be gold certified as that's how close it is.

1 out of 5 eggsDONT BUY IT...well it is discontinued!!

Pros: None

Cons: Inv #94058706
Order #141717016

This item just exploded!!! Yesterday, Jan 5 2013, was the first time I plugged it in. Then sparkle, pop pop pop sound, smoke and bam...gone! The apartment blacked out!
Motherboard asus saber x79 2011 gone! Intel i7 3820 gone!

I checked on google and saw many report about this item exploding and damaging other components. I have not even got a chance to check my motherboard, cpu, corsair denominator platinum 16G.

I mean ...seriously! If you guys NEWEGG know an item has this review of exploding and messing up other things, please do not sell this item.
Now the money and time I spent is gone.

I have been calling Antec. Hope they wil fix. If there is a way Newegg can help Antec make things up by issuing a new psu, I will greatly appreciated. It is really frustrating!! In this economy, every dime and seconds are worth it. I was lucky it did not mess up my two ONLY sata hard drive.

Thank you

Other Thoughts: I think this item was DOA. Since I did not test immediately after I receive, I am stuck with junk item. Dont buy it....well it is discontinued!!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Delivers awesome power with virtually no sound.

Looks AWESOME, great for my amd setup.

It's not 100% modular, but the cables are easy to manage, and adding cables is easy. The "locked in" cables are in the top corner, while the modular cables are in the center. This makes them very easy to see visually and to manage.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have been very impressed with the quality of Antec products. The case I am using now, the DF-85(?), was an upgrade over my 300 illusion. The build of the 300 was great, but this case got mixed quality reviews. I'm glad I purchased it though. It is very tough and the plastic is durable.

This is my first PSU from Antec and it has been the best one I've ever purchased. It is the quietest, easiest to work with, and just has a quality built to it.

3 out of 5 eggsGoing on Third replacement in as many years

Pros: Semi Modular design with as many cables built in as anyone would ever need plus some......and i like the slick red racing stripes

Cons: stops working every year or so. warranty is nice, and they replace it ok....if you dont mind bieng without a computer for a few weeks...but the new one comes eventually, and then stops working again a year or so later. I wont buy another one when the warranty expires. better choices for the money out there

4 out of 5 eggsHigh Capacity, Average Ergonomics

Pros: I owned this power supply for just under 2 years when it finally gave up the ghost. I ran it pretty hard on my SR-2, dual X5650's (@1.35Vcore) and dual GTX590's. It probably would have lasted longer had I not ran it so close to the rated limit--not to mention that it handled all of the aforementioned components 16+ hours a day. At ~$200 the TPQ-1200 is a great value for the capacity and output quality.

Cons: My number one gripe is that the PCIe connectors are fused in pairs. This works fine for GPUs, where the connectors are nicely aligned in a row, but when you consider the case where you have two connectors spread far apart, you'll need an extension of some sort to make it reach.

My other gripe is the exhaust fan. It gets loud--leaf blowing, scare your cat/neighbor/roommate loud. If you plan on running this at capacity, make sure you have good case intake and exhaust to compensate for the less than stellar cooling system.

A minor complaint is that the "PowerCache" caps are difficult to work with in small places. They're big, cumbersome and their obnoxiousness is exacerbated by the somewhat stiff cabling.

Other Thoughts: If your case has the room, opt to purchase some cable extensions (possibly the sleeved variety)--it will make your experience with this otherwise great power supply much more enjoyable.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW

Pros: Outputs a continuous 1200w. Also comes with a load of extra power cables which don't have to be installed which is a good thing because the permanantly attached ones are pretty meaty. The racing stripes are a nice touch.

Cons: I kind of expected a gene simmons scream to burst out of the freshly opened box. it didnt. Oh, and its a bit bigger than your average power supply by a couple inches in length. No economy sized cases.

Other Thoughts: A powerful piece of engineering.
