5 out of 5 eggs2+yrs

Pros: Very well built PSU
I've been running a 125w pcu & a 4670 on it for over 2 yrs
cables are longer than most psu {not a realy big deal if you've never had wires that are to short }
Price was also very good for a top quality part

Cons: Neweeg doesn't carry them anymore
I wish I had another for my A106800k build

Other Thoughts: I've OC'ed my Phenom2 & twin 4670 cards on this thing with no problem
well not untill the VRM burned out of my MoBo :}
I hope my new EA-380d is as good as this 1 has been

2 out of 5 eggspersistent chemical odor

Pros: Works perfectly and is very quiet.

Cons: Has a persistent vinyl/veneer odor that can fill up a small room. I returned an EA430 (120mm fan) to Antec and they sent me this version instead. It has the same exact problem. This is a problem that has cropped up from time to time with product made in China that I've bought. I've found out the reason for the odor is heatless cure, one-part resins that are now used to save money manufacturing all sorts of products. These resins can NEVER be fully cured and there is nothing you can do about other than RMA the item.

2 out of 5 eggsEarthwatts EA-430D

Pros: It worked great for 2 (1/2) years?

Cons: I did a lot of research to buy a good power source that would last longer than this... disappointed, It failed after 2 (1/2) years of light use. I am not a gamer, so this power source was not stretched to it limits by any means. It powered two sata drives a micro asus mother board with an AMD phenom processor, I had a spare 300watt PSU sitting around that I have temporarly in its place that is running my computer just fine. My computer is in a cool clean area. This should have lasted much longer.

Other Thoughts: I understand that this shold fall under a 3 year warranty, that I hope Antec honors.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Please email us at VIP@antec.com and we'll get you set up with an RMA to replace your unit under warranty. Sorry for the trouble but we'll get this taken care of once we hear from you. Thanks.

1 out of 5 eggsBlew up on first start

Pros: I assembled my own PC, and the power supply went into fumes on first start. Returned it, and bought another one from a local store.

Cons: Blew up on first use.

5 out of 5 eggsIt is what we think it is

Pros: Quiet enough
No problems so far
It works, I dunno its a PSU: l/O

Cons: Its dark olive drab in color, doesn't bother me

Other Thoughts: Has plenty of expansion possibilities for my HTPC. Seems reliable and is quiet enough to be non-bothersome but loud enough to know when it is on (I unplug LEDs so this is a feature for me).

2 out of 5 eggsLasted 6 months

Pros: Quiet, ran well for a short time

Cons: Died after 6 months

Other Thoughts: Kind of surprised, Antec makes decent stuff, or at least they used too. System was hooked up to an APC UPS.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi,

Sorry to hear that this PSU died but we'll promptly get you a replacement under warranty. Please email our team at VIP@antec.com and we'll get you started on the RMA process. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

Pros: Runs my my 2 SSDs, HDD, DVD/RW, and Radeon 6850 without issue. Fits in my NXXT bottom mount case a little tight, but that was my lack of research. It's very quiet.

Cons: The color?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU!

Pros: Worked great, no problems powers my system just fine. Bought from another site for way less.

Cons: Not modular, makes keeping everything tidy a nightmare. Can't really complain for a PSU I paid $45 for.

5 out of 5 eggsThey can't make enough of these.

Pros: I have purchased both the 380W and 430W version of this power supply. It is silent (I can't stress that enough) and delivers continuous power.

Cons: None.

The color might clash with the aesthetics of your case, but if you let that stop you from buying this PSU then you probably shouldn't be building a computer.

Other Thoughts: I only purchase Antec power supplies and have never had one fail me. These EarthWatts models should be in every basic computer system out there. 430W is more than enough power for most users. Do yourself a favor and not skimp on your PSU.

...or you could save $15 on another brand and have it fry your components when it goes up (and it will). Your call.

No other brand has my consumer-loyalty like Antec does.
