5 out of 5 eggsSolid for 4 Years Running

Pros: Runs Solid, runs strong, no issues.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I've been running this power supply now for four years. Powers an Asus P6X58D Premium Motherboard, currently a GTX 770 graphics card, four hard drives, including 2 SSDs, LED lights, water cooling system, 20 fans (yes, it is a lot), has often been overclocked, and I really only turn the computer off when I go out of town or perhaps during a major electrical storm. Just keeps going like the Energizer Bunny...

5 out of 5 eggsOutstanding Antec Support

Pros: I bought a 1000w power supply back in 08 or so and a few months back it started making high pitch squealing sounds randomly so I bought a new power supply and the 1000w got put in a corner. Later I contacted Antec to see if they could repair it for me so I don't have to buy another for the next rig I build and they set up an RMA for me, sent it in and they returned this 1200w powerhouse to me.

Cons: Have yet to use is so it's sitting nice and pretty next to the case it will be put in, just need the other parts first =]

1 out of 5 eggsAntec is liable.

Pros: There are no PROS at all. Severl have stated that it took out hardware and Antecs claim is Industrial grade protection: OVP (Over Voltage Protection), umm if that was true at any point then it would not taken the motherboard with it along with other hardware.

Cons: See other thoughts on this one and read the reviews of it blowing up. Antec use to be a good brand at one point now has failed many others out there. They did market this PSU as a over clock PSU even per their site and even when I was at CES. For it to take out a motherboard, SSD drives, and the Manufacturer Response stating that its not the PSUs fault umm yes it is. And per their site "# Industrial grade protection: OVP (Over Voltage Protection), umm if that was true at any point then it would not taken the motherboard with it along with other hardware. This is a big disappointment to see Antec do this to the customers and state what they did in a responce . They legally have to replace all hardware at this point See the website for the PSU and what they claim

Other Thoughts: Manufacturer Response:

Our understanding is that upgrading the BIOS should resolve the problem but please check with EVGA for the most accurate and up-to-date information.” And “Rest assured that, even though this is definitely not a fault of the PSU, we will replace any unit damaged by this problem.”

3 out of 5 eggsAn alternative option

Pros: Cheaper than the High Current Pro.

Cons: Does have a high failure rate.

Other Thoughts: If this so happens to break. Well you did have the option for the more reliable High Current Pro. So it is your fault if you could wait another week for the money.

1 out of 5 eggsJust wow

Pros: Looks nice, fit really well, and had tons of potential.

Cons: After about 4 hours I heard quite a strange zzzz followed by what sounded like a gunshot in my case. As I looked down all I seen was the 4th of July. Followed by that ominous smell of electronic death.

I'm not sure exactly what went wrong, I only had 1 video card, 2 ssd hds, a blu ray drive, and the 5 case fans. No where near the power potential it should have been able to reach.

Other Thoughts: After talking with Newegg staff I can return everything except the motherboard and ssd hd's. I haven't contacted Antec yet to see if they will replace those parts. I'm very disappointed though, even if they do. I went from feeling like a kid at Christmas to someone who just got robbed.

I got this power supply along with http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129100 as a bundle.
Lucky me I saved 30 dollars. To be serious though, I love this case. I cant say enough good things about it, very spacious, easy cable management, great airflow, tons of drive bays, etc. But when it comes to power, I think I'd rather get a refund than a return.

5 out of 5 eggsNot here Yet but on its way

Pros: I'll let you know when it gets here by posting again

Cons: ^^ Ditto what i said their only con i can think of now would be its only rated as a Silver

Other Thoughts: Just thought i should mention like one other Reviewer its always a good idea to test your psu plug it in get a voltage tester and run it threw for a few hours, should never just plug it in and hope for the best, been around computers since i was 4 been building them since i was 15 or so, lots of trial and error, and if it isn't doa then normally its Shipping's fault.. all the boxes i get lately are gashed up and damaged can't blame newegg or Antec for that

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU! Maybe I am lucky?...

Pros: 1200watts
Voltage control on 12volt rails
Fan Control (though speeds dont ramp up till last 20% of the turn of the knob haha)
Has two 8pin CPU connections (one of which is a 4+4pin)
Very Stable

Cons: Cables (because of capacitors) are harder to manage
-this definitely isnt a PSU for a midtower case
--unless you dont care about cable management

Apparently others are having loads of trouble? Maybe I just got lucky

Other Thoughts: I absolutely love this power supply and the features it has. It is unfortunate that others are having problems : / I completely recommend it.

Runs my rig beautifully!

Core i7-920 @4.0 GHz 1.28 Vcore

6GB of OCZ Reaper Ram @ 1766 MHz CL7

EVGA x58 E762 4-way Classified Motherboard

Three nVidia GTX470s in Tri-Sli

Corsair H70

30GB OCZ SSD for Windows 7 ultimate

1TB Raid 0 (2X 500GB 7,200RPM Western Digital Blacks) for Games and Programs

1TB 7,200RPM Western Digital Black

Final Thoughts: If you have a power hungry rig and don't mind the possibility of dealing with a DOA, I totally recommend it. (besides, naturally, those who experience troubles are more likely to post than those who dont)

1 out of 5 eggsFailure

Pros: 1,200 watts. What else do you need?

Cons: Mine failed. Some cables were not circulating any power outage whatsoever!

The wattage control was nonfunctional as well, This power supply did not work.
To verify this I took it to a computer repair shop, after my trial and error, and so they figured as much, and they were able to confirm my fear.

Other Thoughts: It is unfortunate that this rather beautiful PSU did not make the cut, im still wondering if it was mistreated during the shipment or If Antec sends repacked(return to sender) PSU's to other costumers.
Sorry to say but it will only get 1 egg from me. Hopefully this review will persuade you into getting a different brand or make of PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsA Dependable Powerhouse

Pros: -Modular cabling always a plus.
-Inline capacitors help to filter out power fluctuations.
-Plenty of juice to run all 6 HDDs and 3-Way SLI + full scale liquid cooling deployment.
-Very stable and very dependable when OC'd.

Cons: -The stepless fan control is a little touchy. Goes from being inaudible to sounding like a jet engine around 75% speed. Granted, it moves A LOT of air at full speed, so noise is expected.
-It would be nice to have a rocker switch to kill the power when necessary.

Other Thoughts: A note to users like James: It never hurts to test a PSU by jumping pins 4 and 6 before you mount it in your build.

Another note to users like James: Unless you've got some intense reports to write, 1200 Watts of Pure Awesome and a $700 motherboard just might be more than you need.
