1 out of 5 eggsBlew Out After 35 Days!

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: It worked... until it just stopped.

Cons: -The thing stopped working 30 days into having it.
-All cords are pre-attached which makes things messer than they need to be. Also makes cord replacement impossible.

Other Thoughts: I've only had the thing for 30 days, but because its warrenty is on the invoice date that means it's 4 days to late to replace. I might as well have thrown my money down a pit.

1 out of 5 eggsFIRE HAZARD!!!!

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: The power supply worked great for about two years, but then started smoking.

Cons: Basically this power supply had great reviews and good efficiency. I used to recommend it to a lot of people, but many people have been having issues with it dying and smoking. It is a big fire hazard. Many are having this issue after two years of use or more. STAY AWAY. I used to rate this product highly, but I would much rather pay extra and get something of higher quality, preferably made by seasonic like the older Corsair PSUs or the XFX power supplies.

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Powered up right out of the box. More than enough cables. This is the third Antec power supply I have purchased and haven't had any issues.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsI bought it before and I bought it again

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: 1. It works. Plugged it into everything and everything functions fine.

Cons: 1. None.

Other Thoughts: I first bought one of these in 2012 for my first budget desktop build. In fact, you may be able to find my review from back then somewhere down there in all those other reviews. It's been 2 years now and that desktop I built still exists and it's still being powered by Antec's EarthWatts PSU.

I was so impressed at the longevity that I bought a 2nd one for my next budget build, completed last week. Just like the first, it fit fine, powers everything fine (despite having far better parts) and I don't anticipate any problems.

I would recommend this to pretty much anyone. It powers my GTX 660 Ti and my AMD FX8320 (both slightly overclocked) without any problems. I would likely buy it a 3rd time as long as 650W was more than I needed.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Very quiet. I can turn off all my case fans and still not be able to hear the fan on this PSU.

Cons: Not modular. This is a given which is why I didn't dock a star but after installing this thing I really wish I had gone with a modular PSU. I have a full sized case and it took some cramming to hide all the extra cables.

These comments aren't something I'd dock a star over because I knew it wasn't modular when I bought it

Other Thoughts: For the price, this is a fantastic buy (at least when I bought it). I would definitely advise throwing down a little extra cash getting a modular PSU but other than that I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

I've never had any issues with this unit. I never have to think about it which is a very good thing haha.

2 out of 5 eggsSave your money

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Great if you want to waste your money.

Cons: This is the second Antec power supply that has died on me. The first died after maybe 6 months, this one last just over 2 years.

Other Thoughts: I do not recommend this brand and will never purchase from them again. I haven't tried getting the manufacturer warranty yet, but I am hesitant to even try getting the same brand again or just foot the bill to buy a different brand.

5 out of 5 eggsIt has the power, but not the looks

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Hasn't blown up in flames
Plenty of connectors, almost too many

Cons: No sleeving for the cables
Green? Well, I guess you have to cut costs somewhere

Other Thoughts: I'm only using this in an i3 (and no dGPU) build, so I can't really compare it to other PSU's I've owned. It works though. You figure for a "green" PSU that it would have a higher rating than bronze.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked wonderfully, but now it's being returned

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Worked beautifully for 2 1/2 years!
I love that the cables are all wrapped up and don't get everywhere.
Plenty of sata cords, and I have 3 hard drives and 2 dvd drives!

Cons: 2 1/2 years in, thankfully 6 months before the warranty expires, my computer went into a reboot cycle that was not solved by any other trouble shooting -- changing the power supply worked. Antec is supposedly going to exchange it, though.

Other Thoughts: I don't really blame Antec. This stuff happens, and admittedly, this is on a computer that is rarely turned off and often used for heavy duty work like gaming + recording + video rendering.

5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU!

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts EA-650 GREEN 650W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Certified 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Works great! Eco-friendly! And yes, the fact that it doesn't come with a power cord is a pro for me because it is good for the environment (I have a few lying around because I keep them from old systems). Eco-friendly power usage! Yay!

Cons: Not enough to take off an egg, but the fan is audible. Not loud, but you can hear it.

Other Thoughts: Doesn't come with a power cord. Be aware.
