Pros: it was cheap

Cons: ball barrings went out after a year of heavy use, so its very loud

Manufacturer Response:

Hi ricky bobby,

Please send us an email at VIP@antec.com and we can replace the HCG-520 PSU for you under warranty. The ball bearings on the fan shouldn't be making the loud noise. We look forward to hearing from you - thanks.

5 out of 5 eggs520 watts of bronze 80+ quality for about $50

Pros: Easy to install
80+ Bronze Certified
Still supplying power for my computer and it's upgraded GPU (Radeon 6870)
Price
Plenty of Strong Wires for w/e u need including the newer GPU's Power inputs
Quite

Cons: To many of wires for the amount of power this PSU Supplies
The protective covering of the wires is very thick

Other Thoughts: This PSU supplies power to my HP Pavillion Elite 400f, with an upgraded GPU from the Radeon HD 5450 to a XFX Radeon HD 6870. To compensate for the increase in power required by the new GPU, I replaced the stock 300 watt PSU with this 520 Watt PSU. The Computer was bought new in October 2010, and the new GPU and PSU in early 2011. It is now mid 2012 and it is serving me fantastic!

1 out of 5 eggsuseless

Pros: long cables for bottom mount pc, powerful enough for a modern pc set up. quiet fan.

Cons: first one failed after 3 weeks of use, rma'd through antec, took over a month to get my new one, in the mean time i picked up a XFX core 650W. slow service, didn't seem to be informed on there own product. last antec product i ever bought.

Other Thoughts: i understand that sometimes things just break, but the slow service and brief vague emails and phone calls were the coffin nail.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible

Pros: It worked for a little while...

Cons: Started making an incredibly annoying clicking noise after about a month, found out this is all too common in these... no wonder it was on sale and is now deactivated, will never buy antec again... ever

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Great PSU, high amperage on the +12V. Large fan, very quiet. Cables and connectors are plentiful and just the right length.

Cons: So quiet it is hard to tell the fan is on.

Other Thoughts: Does have two connectors for a video card, for those power hungry monsters.

1 out of 5 eggsseconf RMA

Pros: nice when it worked

Cons: died after 2 weeks, this is the second RMA Antec has sent me. RMA took weeks, almost a whole month, very little communication as to what step in RMA process was at. Will never touch Antec again after this.

Other Thoughts: 2 failed PSU's in a row, painfully slow customer service, combine both RMA wait times and it adds up to 57 days!!!!! almost 2 months!!!! way to slow.

Manufacturer Response:

This is certainly not the performance we expect from our products or our support team. If you wouldn't mind sending me your ticket # to VIP@Antec.com, we'd like to see if we can't right this.

Thanks,

2 out of 5 eggsupdate

Pros: lots of connections, powers a modern system very well

Cons: RMA takes way to long, fan still makes a weird clicking noise, should have suck with CM or Corsair

Other Thoughts: so far the RMA is taking 3 weeks......come on Antec be better than this. in the mean time newegg had a sweet deal on a XFX model in the same category, after a week and a half its still super silent and powers my system without any issue
