2 out of 5 eggsIt works, but I wish I didn't buy it.

Pros: It functions without any dips in power. No problems so far in terms of functionality.

Cons: Constant rattle or chatter from something inside the PSU, it's absolutely annoying as possible, and I wish I had purchased something else.

Other Thoughts: Thankfully it's discontinued, it shouldn't be on the market with such an annoying design flaw.

1 out of 5 eggsWas nice for a while

Pros: Worked well for install, plenty of power, good length cables with decent sleeving.

Cons: Squeaky thing is about to kill me. squeaking started after about 9 months and makes me want to beat the computer with a mallet.

Other Thoughts: Clearly, you are not buying this from Newegg as it is discontinued, but if you see it somewhere else don't buy it. I am hoping that Antec support will do something about this or I will be steering clear of their power supplies from now on. Its looking like their Advance RMA is going to cost me the price of the PSU for a temporary time. I will just buy a different brand and throw this one in the trash if they are going try for that.

3 out of 5 eggsAntec High Current Gamer Series HCG-620

Pros: Lots of power
Aesthetics
Cooling
Lots of cables

Cons: Sitting in the bottom of my PC case the power supply draws air from the opening in the bottom of the case. However, the power supply sits updside down in order to accommodate this fit. When you look at the back of my PC, the sticker/tag/nameplate for the power supply is inverted. It's an aesthetic issue only.

The fan inside the power supply makes a loud ticking noise. VERY annoying as it happens 2 - 3 times per second and is almost continuous.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi cz016m,

Please contact us at VIP@antec.com and we'll have a rep contact you promptly to figure out a solution. As a builder myself, I'd be just as annoyed so I can understand your frustration. Thanks for your patience and I hope things work out for you. Thank you.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Powers all my parts as intended - 1 SSD, 2 HDDs, 1 optical drive, i5 2500k, mobo, HD7850, 4 RAM sticks, 4 fans, etc etc.

Cons: See other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Some coil whine to the tune of my SSD upon first boot had me worried. Was tempted to RMA, but at the time of the build, I was already well outside of Newegg return. Was going to contact Antec if it continued, but once it stopped (after a total of about an hour of running), it hasn't whined again - even after being off all night. Been using it for a little over a month now. Figured it's worth mentioning though.

Pros: Great looking and construction is nice. Lots of hook-ups and nice wrapped cables... No problems with install and hook up. Runs Great!!!

Cons: Wish screws were black and not silver. My Coolmaster case is all blacked out and now have 4 silver screws... Wish it had blue LED in it!!! Match my case.

2 out of 5 eggsQuality in Decline @ Antec

Pros: decent price

Cons: Fan is starting to make the faint ticking sound after six months of use. Makes the annoying sound every two seconds. See others w/the same problem. Quality is no doubt in decline @ Antec.

Other Thoughts: Will be looking at other brands when the fan finally goes out. Maybe Antec should buff up their QC- nah that would cost 'em xtra $$$$.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi doomsayer,

I'm sorry you're experiencing a problem with our 620 PSU. We care deeply about quality control; however, as with all products, we do see issues from time to time.
