1 out of 5 eggsReplacement PS shorted out

Pros: While it worked, it did the job

Cons: This PS was a replacement from Antec for another that blew a chip. Unfortunately the replacement only lasted around 6 months before it too failed. I came back into my home office and smelled a strong electrical burning smell. I was running around trying to find the source until I realized it was the PC. Glad I was there to unplug the PC...don't know if it would have caused a fire.

Long story short, I really don't feel like spending another $20 bucks shipping this one back also. I'm using a older, cheapo 600w PS that has run for years w/ no problem.

The Antec PS has a printed circuit board vertically on one side, the PCB solder connections have sharp wires clipped close, these seemed to wear through the thin plastic shield on the cover eventually shorting the board. Looks like a poor design or sloppy assembly.

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 weeks

Pros: Very quiet PSU.

Cons: I purchased this item two weeks ago and it died after only a week of use. I thought that since the negative reviews were all older than 6 months that the problems had been resolved. I guess not.

Other Thoughts: We'll see how well their RMA process is...

1 out of 5 eggsDied after 2 weeks

Pros: Was very quiet while powering an AMD Crossfire gaming machine.

Cons: Power supply died this morning. I thought since all of the reviews that mentioned these dying were 6 months old that I would be safe purchasing this PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsMore than I hopefully need for awhile

Pros: Four pcie connectors, 4 and six pin motherboard/cpu power, at least nine sata connectors, three molex (5 pin) connectors and a floppy style connector, enormous fan on bottom.

Cons: Not modular cables, heavy, 2" bigger than smaller supplies

Other Thoughts: While I would have liked modular cables (plug in) many don't like those for whatever reason. This thing weighs about five pounds, if you have a case with tight space around the power supply this may not fit. It fits fine in my 20 year old lian li case. 900 watts was probably overkill for me but now I'm ready for the future and newer motherboards with 8 pin pcie and 6 pin cpu power connectors. A lot of cable length to tie up to keep airflow good.

2 out of 5 eggsDead Fan

Pros: It's a good 700W supply...

Cons: Annoying Coil ringing when fully loaded, Folding at Home. i7 2600k OC and two GTX560ti OC and water cooled.
FAN DIED, Feb 2013, its been running 24/7 since Sept 2011.

Other Thoughts: ...Some reviewers derated it's performance. Maybe the over current ptotected split rails don't meet their test condition.
AQ5 warranty does not cover: 2. Normal wear and tear. I don't have the original box and it's not worth paying shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsworks perfectly

Pros: 900w of power. Solid and well built. Very reliable.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have a thermaltake overseer rx-I, and the non-modular psu is not an issue. But if I ever need another psu, I will but one that is modular. Antec will be on my list of great products.

5 out of 5 eggsMighty morphin' PSU

Pros: It will power your house, and has enough connectors for a serious raid 5 array. Runs quiet too.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The lack of modularity (which I knew about ahead of time) will definitely put some people off. There are A LOT of cables (they weigh more than PSU I believe), and if you have a system that is tight on space already, you'll need a new case.

Make sure you have plenty plastic ties to bind the extra cables

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate Review (Not sure if ever reviewed b4)

Pros: RECOMMENDED
The Standard of PSU for Big Machines
- 900W
Needless to explain, look at my system, its the UPS that you need to be careful about.
- High quality material
Great capacitors
The wire protective outer layer, holds the wires tight and together, comes in handy when pulling the wires hard during cable organization process. Paying attention to the detail is what makes Antec great, keeping their customers loyal.

Cons: BE AWARE (not really cons)
- Limited room for upgrades
Just enough to support 2 graphic cards:
4 x 8 (6+2)-pin PCI-E power connector
If you ever intend to go for a 3rd graphic card, its still doable, have to use an molex-PCIe adapter connector, but good luck with that with all the wires coming back and forth.

- A design flaw? For over 6 months, I have placed the PSU up side down, because of the printing "900W". The outtake fan is suppose to be blowing downward, however I followed the orientation of its label, until I upgraded my system, I have realized that it's suppose to be pointing downward.
- I'm not saying Antec is not generous in its materials, but in some cases, I am struggling to connect the CPU power cord from the rear panel of my tower (Antec 280), when people are having super big heatsinks, it could be more useful to have 3-4cm of extra length.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am extremely happy with this PSU, I even opened it once dedusting, thought maybe I didn't mount it back properly, but it turned out fine.
