3 out of 5 eggsNot impressed - years later still not

Pros: Lots of cables and connectors.

Cons: When I first purchased this psu years ago from newegg, maybe in 2009, I never found it to be stable and had issues with random shutdowns. I eventually gave up on it but never issued an RMA and instead bought a Seasonic unit of similar specs locally and all the random power issues went away and never showed up again. I shelved the earthwatts and just recently I toke it out of hibernation to use on a testbed for a homeserver.

Well, the unit is now in the household waste disposal site. Upon connecting the unit to an Asus server board, 3 sata hdds and a HD 7750 vc, the unit was still up to its old tricks and it wouldn't boot past the bios unless I disconnected all the hdds but the os drive. Once the system was loaded the computer would just hang at times and I would need to hard power off the unit. Installed a cheap 300watt liteon psu that was salvaged from an old pc and the system ran flawlessly. Connected 3 hdds, a ssd drive, DVD burner, and the same vc without any issues. Goodbye earthwatts!

Other Thoughts: Should have RMA'd it years ago.
I've bought Antec units before in the past and never experienced issues. None were of the earthwatts class.

3 out of 5 eggsLasts under 4 years...

Pros: It works great like it says until it doesn't!

Cons: It went bad 8 months after warranty. "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." 99% this error is because of the PSU, so I'm getting a new one.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I've had this running an overclocked Phenom X4 965 and crossfire 5850 setup for about 3 years. Runs like a champ, quiet and without issue.

Cons: Wish it was modular.

Pros: Had this more then a year, and I am a heavy gamer. This power supply has not cracked yet.

1 out of 5 eggsSmoked and melted down

Pros: Worked well while it lasted. Good wiring and connecting harness made it easy to manage power cords.

Cons: Smoked and melted down after a couple months of light use. Unable to replace because out of stock and discontinued.

Manufacturer Response:
