5 out of 5 eggsG.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2400 (PC4-19200) Desktop Memory Model F4-2400C15Q-32GRK

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: My favorite power supply manufacturer. Platinum rated. The braided cabling. Installed perfectly. in a Fractal R 5 Define. I like permanent, non modular cabling and a no nonsense appearance. It works perfectly powering an X99 machine and all the installed equipment. Runs silently and cool. I only use Antec power supplies. Reliability has taught me that and have not had one fail yet.
Walt Prill

Cons: It isn't much of a conversational guy but he really does his job well. Ya can't have everything I guess.

Other Thoughts: I like components and people and company's that perform as they should. Good job Antec and Newegg.

1 out of 5 eggsProduct malfunctioned after 20 months

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Looks very polished and thoughtfully designed. Labels, warnings, and an adapter for everything on a nice looking case.

Cons: PSU was under very little stress and died after one year and eight months of use.

Other Thoughts: I loved Antec products and I was proud to own one but a PSU short could potentially have damaged anything and everything in my computer. I expected better quality from Antec and will most certainly not be buying a PSU from them again. If Antec provides quality customer care upon the replacement of the parts I may update this review. Until then my advice, stay away from Antec.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years 24/7 running

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Working great almost 24/7 running home server (4 vm operating)
Has enough connectors
Handles multiple torturing usage for high end system.

Cons: Changing price unpredictably.
No modular

Other Thoughts: I have upgraded most of home server components every year including case but this one is the only survivor since my initial build.
I used it for playing game, watching movie, running cloud server, using as a office machine, vmwares, etc.

Currently this one servicing 24/7 for

i7-4790K @ 4.4Ghz
Asrock Z97 itx with AC wireless
Zotac 970 4GB
Corsair 16GB (8x2)
Coolermaster 120M AIO cooler
2 x 120mm fan
2 x WD green 3TB
1 x Crucial 512GB SSD
1 x BD-ROM
A lot of USB devices ; XBOX controllers,webcam,phones...

No issue with all those 24/7 running

1 out of 5 eggsvolt X amps = watts not on this

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: none, not as described on this web site not on the box.

Cons: as per this page and the Antec page. rail 12v1 is 30 amps, rail 12v2 is 30 amps, rail 12v3 is 30 amps, and rail 12v4 is listed as 30 amps.
when i get the unopened box it stated that the 12v set is only 576 watts. or and doing the math
watts divided by volts or amps is 576/12 for a total for all 4 rails= 48 amps or just 12 amps per rail.
i want my money back including shipping and restocking fee.!!!!!!!!!!

Other Thoughts: as per the description each 12 volt rail is to have 30 amps. based on the numbers each only has 12 amps.
what a rip off.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete garbage

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: Antec usually makes a good product. Nice case and cable managment.

Cons: Died after 5 months of use.

Other Thoughts: Shutdown my computer one day and the next day it wouldn't power up. The Power supply had somehow died over night. And it wasn't from surge, because I have a surge protector on it.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat power supply

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: The power supply powers my system with an i5 cpu, 12 GB ram, and a GTX 560 ti video card. It's platinum rating holds true as far as I can tell - I'm running 2 computers with this Antec power supply and my electricity bills have been a little lower than my last setup. It's never failed, never faulted, never had any surges or weird errors. Works as it should.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I opted for a lower watt PS since it has a good rating. It powers everything I need very well. I would recommend this if you are wanting something solid that won't fail you. I've had mine over a year without any issues (I have 2).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cool and quiet power

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: I-7 system, Asrock Exteme6 board, GeForce 660 video card, 3 hard drives, 6 fans. My electric bill went down $40.00 a month with this rig over the old out of the box computer I had with a 300w standard power supply and, my room isn't heating up anymore. This thing paid for itself many months ago.

Cons: The cables are a little short for my mid tower Antec P280 case but, with a little thought to routing, it worked fine and clean. I'm glad I have all the extra storage behind the motherboard in this case for the extra cables though. Modular would have been nice but, the solid connections are one less thing to worry about. Plugs get loose and make bad connections.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

This review is from: Antec EarthWatts Platinum Series EA-650 650W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS PLATINUM Certified Active PFC Power Supply - Intel Haswell Fully Compatible

Pros: For around a $100 bucks for a platinum rating you cant go wrong. Nothing fancy, but a good solid unit.

Cons: None so far. No case badge for your rig.
