1 out of 5 eggsDOA

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: None

Cons: Unit was DOA; fan blade was hitting bundle of internal wiring.
Poor QC

Other Thoughts: I researched well before buying this unit and thought I had hit the right compromise between price and quality. When I powered the unit up, the fan blades hit a wiring bundle visible inside the unit. I cold have pushed them down and probably been OK but why? Especially with the sticker that says "checked by" on it. Anyway, RMA back to new egg and bought a unit that cost twice as much but worked as advertised.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Power Supply

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: Great Power with reasonable price. I have a AMD R9 270x with three hard drives running i7 with 16GB Ram.

Cons: At first, I was not happy about the rebate taking so long to get here. They had to reissue the visa card three times in order for it to arrived. Now, it finally arrived.

Other Thoughts: I didn't know it was the post office or they didn't issue the card at the beginning, but I did received my rebate. I'm very happy to buy Antec Products again in the future.

2 out of 5 eggsRebate Program TERRIBLE!

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: This power supply has not been giving me any issue after three months.

Cons: I still haven't received my rebate VISA Card after three months. They told me that they have reissue the card twice already, but nothing yet. I would give it a five star, but I feel like a fool.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: I moved into a new apartment where the power flicks off and on sometimes. I was planning on getting a UPS battery backup to prevent my computer from turning off, but this PSU performs this function on it's own!

My monitor, router, and everything else electric shut off, but the computer stayed on!

These are just short flickers I'm talking about though. Less than a second.

Cons: Nada.

Other Thoughts: I got it for like $80 off... ha!

1 out of 5 eggstick tick BOOM!

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: had to Return to Newegg...

Cons: 750w... right from the start going TICK TICK TICK...

the fan is out of tolerance with the shroud, and one fin makes contact with the edge once every rotation.

it's very loud... where's the Quality Control on a $120 power supply??!?!

Antec just lost a long time customer

5 out of 5 eggs290X crossfired ice cold

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: Stays cool all the time. If you wanna install it upside down (the fan facing down. Makes cable management so much easier), make sure there are vents underneath the PSU.
Got it for 60 after rebate. What a steal!
2 Powercolor 290Xs crossfired- no problems so far.
It's quiet. No coil whining. No discernible noise from the fan
3 PCIe lines (don't try to power up 3 gpus though)
Basically it's a re-branded SeaSonic PSU

Cons: Since it's clearly stated in the description the PSU is not modular...
Very poor boxing (considering the price i'm OK with that)
Should anything happen to the PSU, I'll update the review.

Other Thoughts: My rig draws 856W from the wall under full load (prime95+ furmark 1080p fsaa 4x). Tested for one hour, No problems whatsoever. 856w from the wall means less than 787 "real" watts (12V +3V+ 5V rails. Up to 92% efficiency). Should be fine. It's got two 12v rails rated at 35A each (744W total). Additional 100W for 5V and 3.3V.
In 4K games the power draw stays below 670W

If you buy an overkill PSU (750W for a rig drawing less than 500w), you are not gonna get that 92% efficiency. Calculate your needs.

My rig:
Zalman ZM-Z9 U3 with a vent cut out in the bottom for the PSU fan
Asrock Z87 extreme6
core i5 4670k @ 4200mhz 1.275V de-lidded (got unlucky with that one)
2x Powercolor R9 290@290X unlocked. stock mhz. Custom heatsinks.
2x 4GB GSkill 2400
2 WD HDDs and one intel 550 180GB ssd
3 140mm fans with leds (assuming, 5W each?)
4 120mm fans with leds
6 92mm fans

1 out of 5 eggsSTOP! Don't make the same mistake I did.

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: $60 AR for a 750W 80+ Gold is a steal.
Received from Newegg within 2 days.

Cons: Tick tick tick tick for 6 hours and then died.

Other Thoughts: I only have myself to blame. I spent $2k to built a new 1440 gaming system and yet I thought I could get away with a cheap PSU. This PSU ticked like a bomb on crack as soon as I flip the switch. I immediately order a Seasonic Platinium for $40 more, but thought I could at least get this thing to work for 2 days until the Seasonic arrived. It didn't. Luckily, when it died, I already finished updating the whole system. The Seasonic put me $10 over the $2k mark, so I can never say "I built this for less than 2k".

5 out of 5 eggsGood PSU

This review is from: Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Pros: Nice clean power supply, grate proficiency, quiet and stays very cool. Antec is a brand ive used for PSUs for over 10 years now my last one lasted for over 5 and still isnt dead just felt the time to upgrade. cable length is very good, able to hook up everything i need in a silverstone RVO2 case. keeps my system stable even after high overclocks and liquid cooling.

Cons: Literally the only thing i can complain about is that its not modular. which makes cable management a bit more of a chore. but if no one looks at the bowing rear side panel on your case then its no problem :P

Other Thoughts: with the rebates and discounts on this i couldnt pass it up, literally got over half off, and with its proficiency of 92% it will save me money.
