Pros: None.

Cons: DOA.

Other Thoughts: Waited on return of defective motherboad (supermicro also) which was damaged in its box so went over the return period on this before getting to use it.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Compatible

Pros: Probably works fine, but I haven't used it because it mounts in the case upside down.

Cons: Description says PS/2, but why does the fan suck air out the top when the description for my ARK EN-8950 Beige Pedestal Server Case says PS/2 power supply only and the holes only line up if the power supply is upside down. Nothing on Newegg matches the description for this case to be compatible.

Other Thoughts: ARK EN-8950 Beige Pedestal Server Case 9 External 5.25" Drive Bays

3 out of 5 eggsOdd

Pros: Supermicro?

Cons: I was unable to find any reputable reviews covering this model.

Other Thoughts: Well, well, well. I've assembled several workstations and this particular one has been the most difficult.

I installed two Opteron 4234 CPUs and 12 gigabytes of Patriot memory (PS312G13ER3K-E). The PSU that I'm using is model PWS-502-PQ. You may need 24-pin and EPS 8-pin extension cables.

If you receive a loud continuous alarm after you've installed your motherboard and your components, you may have a short between the board and the chassis. The alarm may also indicate an incompatible power supply. Remove the board and test it outside of the chassis. The manual does not cover such behavior.

Please attempt to purchase a Supermicro power supply. Although others may be compatible, they are not guaranteed to be. In order to find a suitable power supply, locate your motherboard on Supermicro's site and find a chassis that meets your requirements. The chassis should list the power supply that it includes.

Good luck.

Pros: Started out OK, has enough SATA connections, 24 pin main connector with additional 8 pin connector (apparently required for SuperMicro motherboards). Worked for 2 months.

Cons: Died after 2 months. I unplugged power cable from one socket and plugged it into another socket (both sockets on the same power surge protector) and after that I could not turn the computer on anymore.
