Yeah, we know: it's hard to get excited over a power supply, unless it goes bad. No one needs that kind of excitement. Well, with a three year parts and labor warranty, Zalman obviously thinks you won't have to worry about it.

The same power switching technology originally developed for the space program brings you 86% efficiency to keep your energy bills down. Other advanced features including six separate +12Vdc rails, connectors for ATX motherboards and ten peripherals, twelve SATA drives, two floppy drives and four PCI-E boards. RoHS (Reduction of Hazardous Substances) compliant to reduce pollution, it has dual heat pipe technology and a 14 cm fan to reduce noise pollution as well.

Now you can keep your computer powered, green, and quiet, all at once. And greater efficiency not only keeps you from being a drag on the electrical grid, it means less heat generated; your air conditioner will thank you. That IS exciting! Check it out for yourself.

5 out of 5 eggsLasted 7 years

Pros: Super silent
Very modular
Reliable workhorse for 7 years (december 2008).
Tons of cables
Sleeved cables

Cons: When it started dieing, the pc would not start. I had to disconnect it from the outlet, reconnect it and then it would turn on.
It would also just turn off my rig randomly. just gave up completely. Wouldn't start no matter what.

Other Thoughts: Warranty was 3 years.
It lasted 7 years.
I'm a happy consumer. 5 eggs.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong!

Pros: 8 years of daily use, and still going strong.

Cons: Cords for the motherboard could stand to be a bit longer, but not any shorter than my other PSU's over the years.

Other Thoughts: This thing has seen the coming, and dying of 4 other PSU's since I have had it. :-)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU 7+ years

Pros: Decided to write a review when I realized I'd had this thing over 7 years! It's about to power it's 3rd video card in that time running 4+ hrs a day and still running strong.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggs5 years and running!

Pros: Good, reliable power output. Modular design, includes many extra cables.

I Have been using this PC for a minimum of 4 hours a day since purchased in 2008, making this unit over 5 years old as of this review. I still have zero problems and I will be reusing this PSU in my upcoming 3770K + Titan build.

Cons: Many of the available cables are far too short for use in my Antec. They reach the components they go to, but I am unable to run them under the motherboard tray.

Other Thoughts: Could stand to be a single 12v rail, but I haven't had any issues.

5 out of 5 eggsStill spinning like a top

Pros: Purchased in January 2008, and 4.5 years later, still running strong and silent. I could not have asked for more. Perfection!

Cons: No power rating on the case! I had to check my NewEgg order history to remember that it's 850 watts.

5 out of 5 eggsEven when

Pros: I bought this PS in Feb 09, and ran it on my home brew without a hitch until a month ago when I started having power up issues and thought at first I had a virus. But after checking it out I found that the PS was failing. I bought another PS locally and after I had time to think I noticed it had a 36 month warranty. So I did what they asked and sent it to the factory. Thinking that I was not going to see or here from them again I forgot about until a couple of weeks later here comes the UPS truck. When I opened the box it was a new PS with new cables. I will always purchase their products if I can use them. They could have gave me every excuse and I would have wrote it off - but they are stand up!

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggsGood PSU. Support Terrible

Pros: Modular, solid power.

Cons: A bit oversized. Have to modify some cases in order to fit, may not be able to fit at all in some cases.

Cables are a bit stiff, and may not be able to do much cable management in some circumstances. Motherboard power cables are a bit short, may not reach with large cases with bottom power supply mount and motherboards with top mounted power connectors

Other Thoughts: Zalman support is non-responsive. Need to RMA my Power Supply after 2 years into 3 year warranty. Been waiting a week with no response after submitting the online form twice. No other support options are given on the Zalman web page. About to give up on it and never buy another Zalman product again.

Warranty Support is part of the purchasing experience, hence the low rating.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesom PSU!!

Pros: Very Powerful, comes with several attachments to use as needed. well equipped to handle anything that my motherboard can support and more!!

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Cords wrapped in very durable threaded material for extra strength and support! I'm getting a friends computer put together right now and using this PSU again for him.

5 out of 5 eggsOne Cool Looking PSU

Pros: - Excellent power supply, provides plenty of power for my system with room to spare.
- Modular, provides a clean look
- Looks good with its shiny case

Cons: More of a nitpick than anything, but since I live in Arizona, it collects a lot of dust, which is made more visible by the high polish of the PSU casing.

Other Thoughts: I bought this PSU without doing any research, not something I do often and I must say that I think I lucked out in the extreme.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works... GREAT!

Pros: As Hybrid-Modulars go this is a unique PSU.

I was kind of annoyed that the power button was on the inside... But here it is over a year and 2 months later and it hasn't affected this PSU's performance... or indeed made ANY significant difference at all. I've had multiple power failures and the like and this thing just rolls with the punches. It's a Chuck Norris PSU.

It works great. It is reliable. And it's gorgeous.

Cons: It is huge... I mean LONG.... This is not your normal PSU.. When they say extended, they mean it.

It's a good 40% longer/extended than a normal ATX PSU. Top mounted cases will have a hard time with this bad boy.

Other Thoughts: Newegg just bounced my previous Con submission with this post due to language... Even though, I do not believe I was out of bounds with my comment ... Therefore... NEWEGG... if you are listening, I will no longer post on your boards after this comment.
