4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked for the warranty period of 3 years without problems.

Cons: Died after 3 years and 3 months of use. Started having problems where it would shut the computer down then finally wouldn't run the computer (MB LED's would go bright then dim as if there were a short somewhere).

3 out of 5 eggsFailed after 3 years

Pros: Had two Zalman ZM750 (PS) the previous version of this model. Nice clean design and modular cables. Current model has the same wiring and cooling system. Fit and finish looked very good. Unit is fairly quiet depending on the bios fan control settings.

Cons: Computer ran fine for 2 1/2 years. Noticed that the computer would periodically shut down and then had problems rebooting unless you switched off the main power switch and then restarted. The USB power also started to fail and the PS started making crackling noises. Lasted a bit longer, but first one died at 3 years, waiting for second one to go. Expected better longevity from Zalman, as the PS was not stressed at all. Can't understand why so many of these products don't last, or are DOA.

Other Thoughts: These are very nice units, but a bit pricey these days and the warranty is much shorter than some of the other PS units. Ended up replacing it with an Antec HCP-750 which has a higher efficiency rating and a longer warranty period. Time will tell if it lasts.

5 out of 5 eggsZALMAN RULES!

Pros: I have always used Zalman products i.e. CPU Coolers and Power supply's. They have been very reliable for me and as always run excellent. You may pay a bit more for the Zalman product but you get what you pay for.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Size product for your needs and plan in some overhead for future growth with your system.

4 out of 5 eggsNo problems after 1 year or longer.

Pros: Great not having a lot of power cords to tie out of the way.

Cons: Would like the modular cables to work with other cables as well.

Other Thoughts: Basically just the cables input to the psu being different than my other psu types (that I own), but expect that.

Another brand in the past, the ultra 550 had the same input as output. 4 pin molex to 4 pin molex etc..

If you are to get a psu make sure that the atx connection on the motherboard fits. Some are a solid 1 piece while others are able to take off 4 pins to use on another spot on the board. This one fit nicely in 680i and 750i, but another brand I own would only work in the 680i.
