5 out of 5 eggsGreat for the money

Pros: Small, as any 2.5" enclosure is. And it works, have had 0 problems with it in years of use.

Cons: Fingerprints. It's nice to know they changed the sleeve design - when I bought mine it was a zipper pouch that's an ugly neon orange, but it grew on me.

Other Thoughts: I never used the one-touch backup feature, so I can't speak to it's usefulness. That and the screws. I lost one, so my enclosure only had three screws in it, but as long as you don't tighten them too much or lose them they won't give you a problem. I can say that for the large part of my usage of this drive, I didn't use their Y-cable, and only used a normal mini-USB cable. Yes, it gives you half the volts - but it worked just fine and I've never had a single failure in the whole life of the drive. I only have a 40GB drive, so MAYBE with a larger drive you will need more power, but I would bet against it. This drive enclosure is great for the money, and spending more than $20 on an enclosure is a waste. Get this one, you won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years and going strong...

Pros: I bought this in June 2007 and it still works great. Nice and durable construction and the cord fits in the pouch with the drive

Cons: None! This thing is awesome

Other Thoughts: I'm going to get another one, upgraded another legacy laptop drive.

2 out of 5 eggsHoly Language Barrier, Batman!

Pros: Snap to assemble, and you can ignore the stuff about orange bags and screws not fitting. My bag was black and the screws fit fine.

Cons: The IDE plug is a tight squeeze because of the size of the enclosure, but that isn't really much of a problem. The REAL problem is that the software accompanying this product is horrible. Not even remotely intuitive, or easy to use. And the instruction manual was quite obviously written by someone who speaks no English whatsover. Further, the absence of instructions as to whether one or both of the USB connectors should be plugged in is problematic.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time or money on this product until the instructional materials are improved and written in English, not Asinglish. The product itself is well designed, but the materials accompanying it do not serve their intended purpose.

1 out of 5 eggsdon't bother with this one

Pros: it was cheap, good tight ide connector, was able to use the cover screws in different enclosure

Cons: this thing is just poor craftsmanship all the way, cover screws didn't fit holes designed for, screw holes didn't line up, ide connector was so tight had fear of bending connector pins on removal.

Other Thoughts: all things said, this was one of the worst items i've ever bought, i have bought quite a few external enclosures, none of them have been great, but this one made the others really shine.

4 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: How cool is this? For under 20 dollars I was able to add 60 gig of space with an older laptop harddrive. Everything worked perfect plugged it in installed drivers itself. Cool blue lights on the front. Not bad at all for under 20 bucks! Buy one you wont regret it!

Cons: 1. Hardrive a little loose (I olan on stuffing something in there so it doesn't move. Easy fix.
2. Case can get finger prints on it. But seriously who cares.
3. Case is ungly again for #13 im just glad it came with a case, extra screws, and a screwdriver

Other Thoughts: You can't get much better than this. Doesn't require a power supply, small, sweet looking. Buy one.

5 out of 5 eggsNice product, great value

Pros: I bought this when I upgraded my laptop's hard drive and it turned out to be a nice little investment. I use this to backup my laptop and it works great.

Cons: Haven't had any problems yet.

Other Thoughts: Can't go wrong for the low price and it comes with some neat extra stuff too.

4 out of 5 eggsJust Install Once

Pros: Sleek Look, Small, keeps it cool while transferring large files continuously.

Cons: Screws to hold the hard drive on are tapered, the only problem is when you tighten them to the plastic tapered middle, they like to slip through. Black Case likes to show Fingerprints.

Other Thoughts: Never Overtighten, Don't ever plan on changing out hard drives in this thing more than 4 times. The plastic doesn't hold them in well. However for the money, this is a fantastic case.

1 out of 5 eggsPretty, but not a sturdy buy

Pros: Pretty case, pretty blue light when USB cable is plugged in.

Cons: Very poor instructions on how to install hard drive. The screws to secure the hard drive to the enclosure do not line up properly when installing. Hard drive is not securely fastened in enclosure and feels loose. Screws available on one end of enclosure only.

3 out of 5 eggs2.5 Enclosure

Pros: Good Value, Better carry case then most others, comes with the dual USB cable for extra power needs from USB 1.1 ports. Works Well

Cons: Quality not as good as some of the Metal/Alum's. Would choose another next time.
