1 out of 5 eggsMasscool

Pros: Great Ability to handle multiple types of HD.

Cons: Poor build quality. The USB ports are not solidly attached to the motherboard and will detach, if you insert USB wires frequently. The body is molded plastic, so you cannot repair or re-attach the USB port interfacing. Because of this, I cannot recommend this item.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great! Great price!

Pros: Pros: Really like the size of this and the discount to boot! This usually costs twice as much if you buy it retail. Really no problems docking the drive in at all. The eject feature is convenient too. I would recommend this to anyone looking to backup a sata hard drive.

Cons: Only cons to this is that it requires an outside power source. It would be great if it was completely USB powered or gave the option.

Other Thoughts: Overall a very good drive. I would recommend to anyone looking to transfer data easily and efficiently off of a laptop or desktop hard drive.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk Do Not Buy

Pros: Most of it worked well in the beginning. I used it for daily backups and would only turn it on once a day while performing the backup.

Cons: CF Card slot didn't work at all. Pins were bent. Decided to keep it since I have other card readers. After a few months HDD no longer recognized and a few weeks later none of it worked. Keep getting USB Device not recognized errors. Didn't receive a reply from support.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in spite of the other negative reviews. I should have listened. This would be great if it wasn't garbage. After a few months everything stopped working. Tried it with different drives and without a drive. Still same errors. When it's plugged in none of the ports on it work but somehow it manages to make windows think my USB devices connected directly to my motherboard are now on a low speed USB hub. Contacted MassCool support and did not receive a reply. Will never buy another MassCool product again.

2 out of 5 eggsMasscool docking station

Pros: Nice concept with extra USB ports and multiple card reader slots although I never used them.

Cons: Shame it doesn't work half the time. Two PCs, 1 laptop and one desktop (both Windows 7) are consistently saying the driver is not installed regarless of which USB port on either computer I try to use and computers attempt to install anytime the unit is on but not recognized. One-touch backup never worked. Purchased a second one after fighting with one for almost a year and it does exactly the same thing. Just plugging the USB cable into a computer sets the OS off on trying to install a driver even if the unit is not connected to the USB cable.

Now I just have a nice pair of these ready to be disposed of.

5 out of 5 eggsSys Admin and Photo Copy on MassCool

Pros: Connects USB to card slots SD --> CF and eSata to 3.5hdd
SATA II for copy between the two sources. All card slots show as devices, plus HDD, even if not populated. Fastest eSATA speed of any dock/external I own (6 brands so far).

Cons: I read the 21 reviews April 2011. My opinion is user error
and DOA dock caused the bad reviews.

Other Thoughts: Used with disk image software clonezilla to clone a Vista disk, an xp disk and a Linux disk. All worked, with minor issues. Photo copy from SD, CF and XD cards to HDD, all on this dock, worked as max speed. Card slot ejects went normally in Vista, XP and Ubuntu. Kicks about the CF slot: the CF card insert is the usual one, by eyesight alignment and feel, no surprise, unless a CF card is supposed to insert like an SD card [not in my experience].
To insert the CF card: orient correctly, upside down CF card is normal, then feel the pins insert; expect a 2 minute experiment the first time. There are no issues for SD and XD cards.

5 out of 5 eggsTwo Thumbs-up!

Pros: This is great. I can use it to save data, or use to manage a drive, and easy to use USB & SD type memory management.

Cons: None, which I can note.

Other Thoughts: This is easy to use. Be patient at first, it will work well. I do recommend this without any reservations.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat dock

Pros: It has everything you need all in one convenient dock.
Everything still works great after 1+years of ownership.
Just remember that in order for all the ports on the front to work you have to have the USB plugged in first. You can then plug in the eSATA for the HDD.

Cons: The eSATA connector on the back of the dock was slightly tweaked upon arrival. This didn't impact performance a bit.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for an all-in-one docking station, this is the one for you.
Great product!

2 out of 5 eggsOh well. Live and learn

Pros: Has a lot of stuff. Drive dock works well.

Cons: loads and takes as many as 5 or 6 drive letters because of the card reader part. No way I can find to stop them from loading. I use a LOT of drives, and don't want all my available drive letters taken up by something I rarely use. It is sitting in my pile of unused parts now.
