5 out of 5 eggsSo far So Good

Pros: I am using it for my xbox one eternal hard drive. I installed a 500 GB hard drive. So far it working like a charm. It was a very easy install. It does not run hot and playing games of it was no problem.

I will modify my reviews if i need to.

Cons: None so far.

1 out of 5 eggsWorthless

Pros: None

Cons: Tried it with a 2TB WD drive and a 2TB Seagate in both USB 2 and USB 3 ports. The enclosure itself comes up in Windows 7 (you can "eject" it from the USB list), the drives in the enclosure spin up, but are not recognized. No drive letter gets assigned and can't use it.

Other Thoughts: Into the garbage it goes.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat when they work

Pros: USB 3.0 is quick and transfers fast, hard drives are easy to install.

Cons: Out of 4 of these, not a single one will work on a USB 2.0 port, I've tested this on 7 different computers, they work flawlessly on any USB 3 port I've tried.

Other Thoughts: Odd problem, not sure what would cause that being USB is supposed to be backwards and forwards compatible natively.

QC problem? Design problem?

Either way considering the cost it's not worth returning them.

5 out of 5 eggs2 years old and no problems.

Pros: Cheap and works great.

Cons: When turned on, it takes a little while to show up on my network.

Other Thoughts: Runs through my router for a networked backup drive. I keep it off so i dont ware out the drive and it takes longer than expected to show up. However, it could be because its ran through my network and may not be this at all.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent enough enclosure

Pros: Works well, and looks pretty nice. The light is dim and not annoying, like so many other enclosures.

Cons: The plastic parts feel easy to break. If I had to change the drive inside the enclosure on a regular basis, I would get another model.

Other Thoughts: If purchase on sale, it's a really good deal. Not so many USB 3.0 affordable enclosures.

4 out of 5 eggsMassCool USB 3.0 Enclosure

Pros: Type B USB port, Aluminum case. Cost

Cons: Power Brick and power brick plug layout

Other Thoughts: This case was purchased to replace a Seagate Expansion 1 terabyte drive my Labrador destroyed by getting tangle in the cord under my desk and breaking the mini USB connector off inside the case. This is why I like the much sturdier Type B connector.
2 issues or I would have given this product 5 stars. First is the layout of the power brick. The pins are turned 90 degrees to the length of the brick which in some cases would make the brick take up 2 or more spaces on surge protector. The second issue is the drive didn't slip completely into the controller board SATA connector. I had to loosen the controller board screws to allow the drive to completely seat into the connector then retighten screws before computer would recognize the drive.
After I use this drive for a awhile, I will update with any other comments I may have.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Dead on arrival. Costs too little to worry about shipping for an RMA. Guess that's just a wasted 27 bucks.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy. Buy from some other company that actually has QC and won't sell you a lemon.

3 out of 5 eggsLittle too cheap for my taste

Pros: Mine supports a 3TB hard drive well (does not seem to properly spin down when idle for those looking to try it), it works as intended, great speed, it has an on/off switch, and doesn't look terrible.

Cons: Starts to look awful really fast when handled a lot as it picks up every finger print imaginable, and the plastic innards that actually hold the hard drive and itself together is a little cheap my drive rattles too much inside of there, and the AC plug has a rather annoying little LED light. Really, though, the only thing keeping me from giving this a rating of 5 is that poor build quality.

Other Thoughts: I actually purchased this through a local computer store, where they didn't have the specs on hand as to whether or not this would work with a 3TB so I tried it. I opted to have them order me a Rosewill that specifically says it supports 3TB. If you're just planning on using this on a desk and leaving it there, this thing works great. If it is going to be even remotely mobile, I would suggest you go with something with a bit better build quality.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Easily and Well

Pros: The HDD installed very easily.
It worked without balking.
USB cable not too long, not too short (for me).
Attractive price.
Attractive looks.

Cons: Drive was invisible thru a USB 2 hub, but visible when plugged directly into a recent iMac USB 2 port.

Other Thoughts: Installation was super easy. Once I discovered that the USB cable had to connect directly to the iMac, not thru a hub, it works flawlessly. I have another USB 2 drive that is not troubled by a hub connection. I'm using this USB 3 drive at the USB 2 data rate (no USB 3 on my iMac). Works as well as I could want in this mode. Some day I will find out how well it works as a USB 3 drive. Hopefully, it will be fine.
