Pros: Easy to put together with a drive. It works with Mac OS, Windows, Linux, and OpenBSD, with drive sizes up to 2TB.

Cons: The USB A interface on the enclosure means you have to use the included cable, or a hard to find replacement. I have had one cable fail (USB port goes dead as soon as it's plugged in). Mini USB-B would have been a better choice.

I'm not sure if 12.5mm drives would fit in this.

Other Thoughts: The connector on an older Toshiba 1T external drive failed. I was hoping to put the drive in my wife's Toshiba laptop but it was too deep. This was the only enclosure I could find which would accommodate the 12.5mm drive at a reasonable price. Satisfied.

Pros: Cheap, faster than an external hard drive, looks real slick, love the fact that its so easy to assemble and so much more that u have to try it out for yourself!

Other Thoughts: Its top notch and works great! I love it and would definitely recommend anyone out there to get it and not hesitate! I was kind of skeptical at first wondering if it would be good or not coz it was quite cheap and i kept thinking if it would work well or be a waste of my time-effort & money... But after i ordered it-it came in the mail within a few days-quite fast i must say!) its easy to assemble and really easy to install the hard drive-all u gotta do is put the screws in place right-plug in the usb cable-and its working better than an external hard drive that will cost over a hundred dollars!
I would definately recommend this to anyone out there!

Cons: Does not include a USB pass through port or a carrying case like the description suggests. It uses two usb ports, which would be ok if had a pass through port, but it's hogging up precious real estate.

Other Thoughts: The blue light is kinda cool I guess, but it tends to be blinding when you're in a slightly darkened room.

Pros: I have a few of these enclosures and they are perfect if you have an extra drive lying around that you'd like to use. I really like the price and feature(s) that NexStar offers. Great enclosures all around... 5 Stars!

Other Thoughts: I use a WD Black 500G hard drive with this and have a great backup system for my computers. Plug it in and run a backup. Done.

Cons: The connector isn't the micro-usb connector that quality external 2.5" drive enclosures are sporting these day. It's a full size USB 2.0 connector. The proof is the 'what's in the box' photograph. It works but requires a cable with full sized USB connectors on both ends. Deducting a star for that. I didn't want to be carrying another cable with me.

Regular USB cable instead of micro usb
Metal plate to screw the hard drive to (keeps the drive fixed rather than dangling from the SATA connector)

Other Thoughts: It is a decent upgrade over the Nextar TX, which lacks tha backplate.

Pros: Works perfectly. Zero complaints.

Cons: The only reason I give this product 4, not 5, stars is because the blue light on it that blinks and lights up when the HDD is spinning is so bright it could be used to signal deep space, or light up the atlantic for the Titanic, shoot if Paul Revere had one he'd have signaled that the red coats were coming with this light! All jokes aside, its just way to bright for a HDD light, but a lil electrical tape fixed that.

Other Thoughts: this enclosure was always cool to the touch my drives never got hot. this was a great enclosure while I had it. I eventually gave it to a friend
