Pros: There are NO PROS for this item, unless you like cheap cheesy looking paperweights.

Cons: This is the worst piece of JUNK I have ever purchased from Newegg and I have purchased quite a bit.
I have tried this unit on 3 separate computers with 2 different operating systems using 4 different hard drives. All I managed to get from it was locking up 2 of the puters, and putting the other 2 into the strangest conditions I have ever witnessed. They would not show any of the items under "My Computer" and would sit and try to reload time after time, however I could play games or other software while it was doing that. I decided to quit while I still had operating puters and toss it in the trash. Lesson learned, you can expect JUNK when you buy CHEAP EQUIPMENT.

Pros: Looks good for a piece of large plastic. I can use either SATA 2.5" or full size 3.5" drives in the dock and I haven't experienced a problem using the push button removal.

Cons: Could not get eSata to work on any of my drives, Windows 8 list the device as 'LSI 1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller', and I've had no luck getting it to recognize drives. USB works, but when transferrring 100 GB backup images, it takes forever. (This is likely due to USB transfer rates and/or the USB cable)

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for eSata docks, I would not recommend this device. I've yet to experience any problems with the power button, nor do I have a 3TB drive. YMMV.

Pros: Worked/works great for under 1TB HD's. Use it constantly to b/u many different PC's and Mac's for friends and fam. I've used a number of different size and Manufactures of HD's.

Cons: When I got a 3TB HD, the Mac OS would only recognize 800GB.

Pros: OK when it worked

Cons: Even when it was new, this thing was finniky with specific drives. It has never worked fine on every drive. Some worked OK, some click click click and then work fine straight on the motherboard connectors. First the Esata goes out on these things, Always, always. I have another Vantec enclosure that did the same thing. and also others have that problem. Then you can only use USB -it's an old tired routine. After a couple of years this thing will not accept any drive. I have also had the "Do you want to format this drive" error on a backup drive full of data. Then sometimes you turn it off then on and it works fine. And it will lock up your PC also, when it crashes. Tired of it. I will never buy one of these again.

Other Thoughts: Please don't keep putting "tech knowledge = high" , boys and girls, and then prove that it's below "low" simply by your comments. It's getting old.

Pros: Works

Cons: Power button wears out after minimal use.

Other Thoughts: The power button wears out after minimal use. It gets stuck in the on position making it difficult to turn the power of to the device in order to safely take out your hard drive. This is bypassed by just unplugging the device from the back after you eject the drive. Still though, I think something as simple as a power button that doesn't fail after pushing 50 times is a must, so one egg.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Never worked from the beginning. My computer will only recognize the hard drive for about 5 minutes and then just conks out.

Pros: You could be a monkey and figure this out. In fact I may very well be one.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Never realized you could do this, "save a hard drive" and then a client told me about this concept. Said don't fix the components, just dig hard drive out and snap you can use data stored on it, or as added back up. Snap, he was write.

Pros: nice case, like power button, eject button
came with eSATA cable & eSATA internal kit

Cons: worked for around 5 or 6 uses, then started cutting out intermittantly. Drives 1GB & up not recognized

Other Thoughts: For the record, I did not buy this from Newegg.
Have now replaced it with an alternate manufacturer's unit.

Pros: Stands straight up, and doesn't drop the drive off the OS. And rather bright. A good one up from Azio.

Cons: Man that blue light is bright. and the power button does stick. Minor annoyance and of course the eject button is silly although nowhere near as useless as the Rosewill one. Avoid that one at all costs. Bad power button and corrupts the drive. Pretty good with 1 TB but that one and 2 TB. Oh no. I returned it for this one. No problems since.

Other Thoughts: Yes avoid the Rosewill of the same time with eSata. Unsafe, faulty, and will corrupt your data. :( Vantec no problems in the future. Someday maybe I'll go to USB 3.0. But it's not ready yet.

Pros: Features are the only pros

Cons: I have three of these and they have all failed to recognize drives over time. I now use 2 Rosewill and have yet to have any problem at all.
