Cons: Formats your drive instantly. Build quality felt lacking, buttons specifically.

Other Thoughts: I failed to read that it reformats your drive without telling you, I had bought it to access a hard drive from a broken laptop. I installed the drive to the enclosure and it formated the drive. I lost all my data. 3 eggs because it functions but build quality felt lacking

Pros: None.

Cons: Don't waste your money. The device will not accept a change of password from the factory preset. Doesn't make it very secure. I have contacted Vantec many times for assistance. They will not answer any of my e-mails. Very bad service. Will never buy Vantec again.

Pros: I liked the vault idea with a pass code just to keep out few prying eyes but not real "Hackers"

Cons: the key pad suck big time. it sort of a soft aluminum foil like and it you can't key in and use your nail it makes a big dent in it and it won't come out I should have waited long I had went and ordered another before I know the key pard area sucks and the case fit is not too good either

Other Thoughts: I would buy more if and when they used real buttons and not the poor quality aluminum foild like ones they have I wanted to like it and die and order another then I found that the key pad does not hold up The drive works ok it the bloomin keypad poor quality and not so good case fit that spoils it for me Note if you are female with long nails I think twice about buying it or get someone whit short nais to key in the pass code

Pros: sleek sturdy design, best plus is the security feature it makes it easy to use on multiple computers and be able to store and access secured encrypted information without installing software on any computers. good product a bit pricy but worth it.

Cons: the only thing i really don't like about it is it automatically formats the drive 50/50 one half public, the other half secure. it would be nice to change that setting to allow either more or less of the hard drive space to be secure.

Other Thoughts: I used a 750 GB WD Scorpio drive on it and it works good i was a little concerned when i got the box and it said up to 500 GB. it makes me wonder if i could have used a 1 TB drive on it though which is what i really wanted.
