Cons: Only works when warm. For some reason, if it's cold, the case doesn't work and nothing connects. Warm the whole thing up and it works.

Pros: Got this so i could transfer large game files between pc's. With the size of games nowadays my 32gb flash wasn't cutting it and larger flash drives aren't worth the price. So i got this and paired it with a spare 90gb drive i had and boom, loads of easy portable storage.

Cons: Sometimes if i connect the primary usb header before the power header the pc might fail to detect the drive. Reconnecting the main cable fixes this and connecting the power cable first prevents it all together.

Other Thoughts: Some pc's just don't deliver enough power through a single usb port causing connection drops when transferring data. The extra usb plug for power helps with that issue. You may not always need it but no its nice in case you do. Especially when you can't afford to have the connection cut out during a transfer.

Pros: None

Cons: Bought two units. Neither worked with Hitachi 250GB hard drives. Both cables plugged in. Blue light goes on, Windows 7 doesn't even see the drive.

Unbelievable.

Pros: Looks nice.
Supports USB 3.0 speeds.
Easy drive installation.

Cons: Doesn't support NAS or personal cloud?
(Felt that I should say *something* here. I mean, there's always room for improvement, right?)

Other Thoughts: I had a good idea of what I was getting when I ordered it, and this device did not disappoint. It handles all standard 2.5" SATA hard drives that I've seen and supports USB 3.0 connections. The construction seems solid. I like the thick aluminum casing. It makes the whole device feel much more sturdy than plastic or sheet metal enclosures.

Note: Most hard drives that you put into this thing will not come close to matching the 10Gb bandwidth of USB 3.0, so I have no idea exactly what the speed limits are for the enclosure. Let's just say that it's as fast or faster than any USB 2.0 enclosure I've worked with, and leave it at that.

Pros: Hi quality enclosure. Instructions and photos were clear and easy to follow. Within minutes of receiving package, had the hard drive, reclaimed from my old netbook, installed in the enclosure and operational.

Pros: Easy to install.
Slim profile.
USB 3.0.

Cons: No vents on the case, so gets very hot. Heat may be more related to poor HDD than to case though.

Other Thoughts: Functions exactly as I expected, just wish there were some vents for heat dissipation.

Pros: Fit and finish of the product is fairly high quality, the assembly design is quite simple yet sturdy, and the it's fairly inexpensive. Aluminum enclosure is both sturdy and great for heat dissipation.

Cons: I've initially ordered 2 enclosures since I needed to convert 2 1TB drives I have around the office, and 1 of the 2 enclosure was DOA, so I've ordered 2 more just in case I receive another DOA unit, and sure enough 1 of the enclosure from the second order was DOA. I had to RMA that unit as well. Either I am extremely unlucky or Vantec needs better quality control.

One gripe I have with the design of the product is that there are 2 cushion pads inside the enclosure and it makes it quite difficult to install both full size HDD and the slim HDD. Others have commented that they have removed the padding, but you just need to push firm and the padding eventually gives.

This enclosure is NOT USB 2.0 compatible; it will only work with USB 3.0

Other Thoughts: I deal with multiple vendors and I must say that Newegg has one of the best customer staff in the industry! The RMA process was a breeze and I receiver 2 replacement units and they are working fine.

Pros: Works as advertized. Used case to setup SSD for my laptop. Then placed old HDD into case for back up.
Small, portable.
Set up is a breeze.
Cloned HDD to SSD without using the mounting screws, then after I used the screw kit for making the HDD sturdy and transportable.
Comes with a Y-USB conection, but my laptop only needs to use one USB to power it.
Solid and easy to use.

Cons: None so far.
