Pros: Worked only once or twice

Cons: When it failed it corrupted MBR, I had to reinstall Win 7,
then after rebooting I reconnected to USB.
Windows said cant recognize, Disconnect failed device.
Dont buy this unless you want to cause yourself a lot of
troubles.

Pros: Needed to read an existing drive extracted from a damaged laptop and copy. This tool was amazingly easy to use compared to others I have owned. Simply plus in the drive (2.5) in the sata connection, connect to the USB port and turn the power on. Initially had to restart the computer to get it to recognize the drive.

Transfer speed was excellent. After using it for this purpose I used it to clone that 2.5 to an old full drive for backup.

Also was able to use the tool as a hard drive enclosure on my main computer (2x 2TB) via the USB3.0 connector. Read times have been generally pretty good as cold storage tool. Drives can be removed/added (I power off the device while swapping).

Overall a very solid tool to have around. The ability to use this an external HD quick swap was icing on the cake

Cons: Cable that comes with it is rather short, consider buying longer one if necessary

Initial use required a system restart to detect device & attached drive, some level of patience needed

Other Thoughts: Have already recommended this to friends

Pros: Compact design, Use it as a docking station or duplicator, Works exactly as it says it does. Dupicating lights flash back and forth like K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider.

Cons: Short USB 3.0 cable, only 3ft long. Works slower than cloning software

Other Thoughts: Got this for my computer repair company. I've been doing a lot of Windows 10 upgrades but advise customers to do a system backup prior to upgrading. I tested the duplicator with 2 x 1TB Western Digital hard drives, one with Windows 8.1 Pro installed and the other was brand new and unformatted. The source drive had 80 GB of data and it took the duplicator a little over 2 hours to complete the imaging process. Tried the same cloning process on a desktop computer and connected both drives using SATA cables. It took Acronis True Image 2014 about 1 hour to complete the same imaging process. Also tried duplicating from 1 x TB Western Digital drive with Windows 8.1 Pro Installed 80 GB to 1 x TB Seagate Drive with the NexStar duplicator and it kept giving me errors. Not sure what the issue was exactly but it would not duplicate. Not a big deal since I was only doing a test. Over all I am very satisfied with the Vantec NexStar NST-DP100S3 Hard Drive Duplicator and give it 4 Eggs for it performance. I took off 1 Egg because it is slower than software imaging and its short USB 3.0 cable.

Pros: Works as a docking port and a duplicator.

Cons: No Cons no cons no cons

Other Thoughts: I love this product. If you are on the fence just buy it, You will not regret it.

Pros: Very good quality built item. The item worked as described. I went hard from the first day i received it and I was able to clone 10 drives with ease. The item's ability to clone a smaller drive to a larger drive and leave the remaining space available for recovery at a later time ensures that no disk space is wasted. The usb 3.0 is quite fast also. The Vantec NST-DP100S3 is the perfect machine for cloning and moving data around.

Cons: None at this time.

Cons: This DOC only support 512byte sector and does not say it at a packaging. It is in a manual. As you know, NTFS default is 4KB sector and you are not able to see data with this doc. Windows always says it is not accessible and FORMAT.... I put this doc into a CLOSET now. It is not good for Windows user but it is good for Mac user.

Pros: Drives showed up initially. Simple instructions. Seems plug and play. Comes with USB3.0 cord.

Cons: Can only read drives with 512 sectors. This is not mentioned in the specs. You will be asked to reformat any 4k drives you insert.

Other Thoughts: Drives showed up initially, but I had repeated formatting problems. All formatting attempts ( with a drive plugged into the enclosure) failed. A closer read through of the manual reveals that it only supports HDDs of 512 sectors. So all my 4k ( or default setting ) formats were failing.

I reformatted my external drives by attaching them internally, and set them to 512k. However, now when I plug in the newly formatted drive into the enclosure, it does not display properly. ( Drive shows up, but is not accessible ).

Due to the 512 limitation, I am not interested in fighting to get this enclosure to work. Low review score is based entirely on the fact that the 512 limitation is not spelled out ANYWHERE in the specs or description.

Pros: Works like it should. No need to boot up a spare pc with Clonezilla or other HDD Cloning software. Does it sector by sector and just works.

Cons: None that I have found yet.

Pros: Use lots of different backup and drive clone clone software but for a simple sector to sector copy, this is way to easy!

Cons: clone to larger drive leaves you with an extra partition Issue if only wanted one Partition. But re-sizing is a do-able workaround

Pros: its USB 3.0 and supports HHDs as well as SSDs and the cloning function is amazing its a billion times simpler then using clonezilla. Plus you can use it to dock drivers and use them as extra storage out of your system. I actually cloned my 128 GB SSD to a 240 with little to no problems really (see other details)
I would recommend this its great

Cons: windows doesn't detect any drives in it with out a reboot
