5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: The remote with green/yellow LED indicating which PC is selected is a nice feature. Also good for hiding the main unit in the back somewhere out of the way

Cons: Switches between PC's a little slow, there's a 1-2 second delay before mouse responds, not too bad but some may find this annoying.

The cord for the remote is kinda thin, feels like it could be damaged easily in the future. Nice for routing it through narrow areas like under a PC's or monitor's rubber feet though.

Wish the remote has some sort of way to attach it to something (besides 2 way foam tape) like keyhole slots.

Other Thoughts: Despite all these bad reviews I bought one of these anyway. I took a chance because I know someone that has had one of these for years and it works great. Gave it 5 eggs because it overall works great, does what it's supposed to do and is no 'worse' than any other low priced KVM switch.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost good

Pros: Easy to connect; Supplied cables; compact. Switches high resolution video well

Cons: The flip switch has never worked. Belkin replaced unit once but new unit flip switch still doesn't work. Have to plug and re-plug flip switch connector to switch computers. Most recent negative is one of the USB ports seems to have failed. Fortunately I have a single USB cable for both wireless keyboard and mouse.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible Do not buy!

Pros: Neat design?

Cons: I bought 10 of these, yes 10 and ALL OF THEM had shorts in the remote controls. The wire has to be vigorously shoved into the port with all your might to switch a display only to stop functioning after about 10 seconds after you set it back down.

When they are working "WHEN" you have a 20% chance your computers are even going to detect a mouse or keyboard. You always get sound though! WOW!

Cables are very stiff, to the point where you gotta sit there and bend them for an hour so you can have a straight wire instead of a pig tail like monstrosity.

On about 4 of them it caused vertical lines across the screen, this was corrected after the kvm switch was removed and manually connected to the monitor.

Other Thoughts: Over all these are terrible, even after returning them to get 10 new ones those ones didn't work either the DOA rate on these for me has been 100% and that is just terrible. I have bought a lot of Belkin products and i will tell you the ONLY THINGS they make that are even worth buying are wireless adapters and routers. I have had USB cables be DOA on me, seriously a USB cable i mean how can you screw that up?

Belkin support is non existent was placed on hold for an hour switching through departments only to get a guy named Rob to tell me to pack em up and ship them to Belkin to get them replaced cause there all defective. No really?

3 out of 5 eggsNot bad for the Price

Pros: Has USB Key Board and Mouse support
Has VGA connections for both outputs on the computers

Cons: The only thing I had an issue with was the remote seemed very cheap and not made well - the plug the was in the remote plugged into had a short in it and made the Remote not work.

Other Thoughts: Waiting on a replacement from newegg - RMA

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job...

Pros: Facilitates running XP and Vista units with one monitor due to space concern. Unlike other reviewers, I have had little/no problem using wireless keyboard or mouse (Logitech MX3200). Newegg $$ was right, half of what I originally paid (and returned) at a large national store. I mostly use the keyboard shortcut to switch/flip from one source to the other. Athough the wired remote feels flimsy, it has worked fine for 6+ months - use the computers every day.

Cons: If the cable/junction point (of the video feeds from the CPU's, the transmitter for the wireless keyboard/mouse, and the wired FLIP remote) are frequently moved, the likelihood of problems/failure to respond to commands increases greatly. Once I positioned this junction in manner that it does not move around, I have had maybe one or two random failures to flip. Reboot and all is back to normal.

Other Thoughts: It has worked in my application. Nothing slick or awe inspiring, but if you want to run two machines with one monitor/keyboard/mouse it seems to fill the bill.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for home office

Pros: The wired remote is a great feature, and allows the unit to be hidden which is nice because it uses built in cables and has a unique design that unfortunately doesn't lend itself to a clean installation. Switching computers is easy with this unit, but takes about 3 seconds to restart the USB devices upon each switch.

Cons: Cable length was an issue for me. One cable is approximately 2.5', while the second cable is about 5'. I needed equal length cables to set up my computers on either side of my monitor. On two occassions during the three weeks I had this unit, it lost signal to keyboard and mouse, but recovered within seconds only causing minor interruptions.

Other Thoughts: Some reviews site issues with the remote device. I too had problems at first, but realized that the plug for the remote needed to be pushed more firmly into the switch. It was a very firm fit once I did that, and never had any problems with the switch. If I only used my systems for home office and light gaming, I would have kept the unit. However, I needed four ports, and a unit with USB pass through for faster switching as I do PC repair work from my office as well as moderate gaming.

2 out of 5 eggsTake a Pass

Pros: - Hardware button to switch.
- Integrated cables.
- Allows switching of video only in order to listen to audio on the original computer.

Cons: -Lasted 2 weeks before it stopped working.
- Needs an anchoring mechanism so it doesn't slide about.

Other Thoughts: I have this connected to a G4 Mac and a Phenom PC. After 2 weeks, it will no longer pass the keyboard or mouse signal through to either box. The video signal still switches, though. Purchased this through another retailer.
