4 out of 5 eggsBelkin warranty replaced w/ receipt

Pros: Affordable, all in one, easy to use. I purchased my first unit and it worked great for many (> 10) months. At some point the secondary video cable started to go. Depending on how you positioned the cable, the screen was tinged all yellow, green, blue or red. I checked Belkin's site and it was still under warranty. Sent copy of receipt and they exchanged for a new unit. I paid only a few bucks for shipping. Have been running that one for well over a year with no issues.

Cons: First one went bad, but Belkin replaced. ^^^see Pros ^^^

Other Thoughts: Save your receipts, it saved me $50.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Allready stated, it does work

Cons: A couple of observations. Must have one "primary" machine and one secondary, if the primary is not one the secondary will not make the video etc. work. Maybe newer "software" gets around this. Also it seams that you must let one machine start up completely before you start a second machine. Not always the case but quite often the second machine will not recognize the K and M if you start it while using the first machine. Hope that makes sense

Other Thoughts: So it works, not what I would call a "good" KVM. I have other units that works much better, no issues, no drivers software etc. works with whatever I plug in, any order. Bought this one just to use at home-office for laptop in dock and workstation. Works as described above.

1 out of 5 eggsHalf-decent until it stopped working

Pros: I personally prefer remote switches over software switches, and the large switch button is easy to hit quickly. Cord length isn't bad. Device worked well with a USB/PS2 converter plug on my multi-button mouse. Doesn't need its own power supply. Then again...

Cons: ...after sitting idle for a few months attached to only one machine, something in it (I think the switch button) stopped working. Pressing the switch now has no effect. I had to throw it out (I'm shopping NewEgg for a USB one now.) Can't give broken equipment a good review.

Additionally, if the remote (which uses an audio-style plug) isn't plugged into the KVM switch, the mouse, keyboard and monitor stop getting input. This is simply inexplicably bad design.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat until it died

Pros: Easy to connect and use.

Cons: Quit switching after about a month.

Other Thoughts: Not worth the money. Wish I not taken the advise of the store clerk and had done more research before buying it.

1 out of 5 eggsAudio works

Pros: It was inexpensive. The audio works and that is worth at least a 1 rating.

Cons: The keyboard, video, and mouse did not work. I tried what the other reviewer suggested and have both systems on to ensure the video signal was active. Even tried with multiple different systems (laptops, docking stations and desktops) and nothing works. I will try to RMA the unit seeing it is only 5 months old.

Other Thoughts: I use belkin KVM switches in my offices around the country and have great results. This may be just a bad/faulty unit.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome KVM

Pros: 2 systems and 1 monitor, switching between systems is a breeze, just press the remote to swap.

Cons: Not really a con, theres a tiny delay when switching, not really instantaneous switching but thats just wishful thinking.

Other Thoughts: Just what I needed. Its a pain to have to remove and attach cables from multiple systems. With this handy gadget, I am able to leave my systems on and swap when need be. Been using Belkin products with good results.

2 out of 5 eggsDoesn't Work right!

Pros: Works, switches between two pc's.

Cons: Does not facilitate the correct reading of Monitor EDID Data, making it impossible to use it with more modern graphics chipset drivers which read the EDID data. It is impossible for windows to detect exactly what modes your LCD monitor can display if the serial line that transmits this information from the LCD to the Video Card is cutoff. For more information view wikipedia entry.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked surprisingly well.

Pros: I bought this switch despite the negative reviews. I hooked it up to a winxp computer and a win98 computer. The keyboard and mouse are wireless ps2 microsoft products. Everything worked fine including the audio.

Cons: none so far.

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: It technically works...

Cons: I've used many KVM switches over the years and this is one of the worst yet. With my LCD, one display is always very very fuzzy. You have to auto-adjust to clear it up, but then the other will be fuzzy again. Also, when switching back and forth, the mouse will randomly click even if you arent touching it.

Other Thoughts: Knew I should stay away from Belkin but thought I'd give them a chance, never again.

Manufacturer Response:

Without seeing how you have your video card resolutions configured it is difficult to solve the problem you have experienced. VGA being an analog connection, can sometimes cause anomalies in video performance even with high-end KVMs due to signal loss and resolution switching. VGA auto-configures for the most part to native display resolutions but was originally created for CRT screens. That being said, this KVM will work correctly with your system and I would recommend adjusting the video resolutions for the connected systems to be as similar as possible.
