5 out of 5 eggsHappy With This Hub

Pros: Looks great thats the first noticible thing. It's always neat to see the guts of electronics. Has the power to run my printer, scanner, phone, and charge my ipod without a problem.

Cons: Only USB 1.1, but really unless your gonna have external hard drives hooked up to it. It won't Matter. Even then I have a 250GB external and it just takes a bit longer to get started then is undistinguishable from a 2.0 connection after that.

Other Thoughts: This came free with a wireless Logitech keyboard mouse combo and I'm glad it did. I needed more than 3 USB ports on my new Gateway P-7807FX and this gets the job done as good as I could ask for.

5 out of 5 eggsSOLID USB 1.1 HUB.

Pros: I got it free with hardrive purchase. neat '90's translucent design. multi-leds inside of hub.

Cons: USB 1.1, '90's translucent design. multi-leds inside of hub.

Other Thoughts: solid 5 eggs since i got it free. I'm only plugging in joysticks into this one, and so far so good.

3 out of 5 eggsMy mistake

Pros: Flashy, colorful when in use.

Cons: It is not 2.0.

Other Thoughts: I did not carefully read the shell shocker ad, just went for it. My mistake. I get a system warning each time I insert a USB drive or device to this unit, reminding me that the USB port where the Belkin is plugged can take a bigger challenge (i.e. 2.0). I will donate it to Goodwill.

5 out of 5 eggsMy first ever USB hub

Pros: I don't have to haul my desk around to connect something to a USB port. Makes it handy since I'm arthritic. It was also on sale, which makes it handy since I'm on a fixed income.

Cons: None to date. DO such hubs even HAVE cons? Other than when they don't work, that is.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, I like not having to haul my desk around in order to reach the back. Being able to stick it to the desktop would be nice. As it is, it's resting quite happily in a "nest" made up of rolled up telephone cord. ::chuckles::

5 out of 5 eggsPhotoshop companion

Pros: Excellent piece of equipment. Makes navigating and working in CG software so much easier. This is my first tablet but I feel that the workspace is entirely adequate, I don't see a reason for more. Realistic feel of drawing, multiple brush tips to simulate different mediums. Overall I am extremely pleased.

Cons: None

2 out of 5 eggscheap

Pros: Had a very nice price. fast shipping

Cons: The hub will not work with a usb wirless B adapter pluged in or not

Other Thoughts: I bought this for a customer of mine trying to setup wireless on an older laptop. It came I went to his home and set everything up and the wireless would not work hooked into this hub but yet it works fine plugged directly into the laptop and both are usb 1.1.

3 out of 5 eggsUSB 1.1 vs USB 2.0

Pros: USB 1.1 is required for older PCs that do not recognize USB 2.0 (later versions of Win95, Win98, Win98 SE, WinMe, Win2000 and early versions of WinXP).

Cons: It's not USB 2.0. USB 1.1 has maximum throughput of 12Mbps (1.5MBps) and USB 2.0 has a maximum throughput of 480Mbps (60MBps).

Other Thoughts: It's time for USB 3.0 to make its appearance.

3 out of 5 eggsWanted to like it

Pros: Power adapter for high drain components.
Could work well if used right.

Cons: Misleading (at best) product info.
1) Print speed with most inkjet printers is noticably slower on USB 1.1 and that is normal. True, it does not slow the system down in most cases, but it does slow down the printer, scanner, thumb drive, camera, card reader, etc. (Think file size - if there's data moving the speed matters.) The description I saw does not make that clear.
2) Photo clearly shows USB 2.0 ports although the specs clearly state USB 1.1 - anyone not reading both and checking manufacturer for the truth could easily be fooled. Fine print states minor changes might be made to cover you for color, design, case size, firmware updates, and the like. That should not extend to older device showing photo with newer capabilities it does not have that imply 20 X faster device.

Other Thoughts: Keyboard, mouse, CAC reader, laptop cooling fan, and many other devices work great at USB 1.1 speeds and can free up your other USB 2.0 ports for that external hard drive.

3 out of 5 eggsReally???

Pros: Um.... It looks neat.

Cons: USB 1.1. "On Sale" for $10.

Other Thoughts: I like the nifty writeup about how it saves your USB 2.0 ports and stuff. Newsflash... A USB 2.0 hub saves your ports too except you can plug faster devices in also.

I can't believe this is the shell shocker of the day. Man, Newegg must really need to clean the warehouse of these things. I think the last time I bought a USB 1.1 hub was about 5 years ago from a local store for $1.99
