2 out of 5 eggsBleeds power back to the USB port.

Pros: It works.

Cons: It back powers the USB port you plug it in to. This is not to the USB spec. I don't know what the consequences are, but it makes me nervous. I would be concerned about potential danger to the system. This is a common defect in USB hubs.

If I kept it, I'd NEVER hot plug it. I'd have it plugged into the same power strip as the computer.

Pros: Nice while it worked.

Cons: Stopped working after one or two months.

Other Thoughts: Invest in something with a little more quality. You get what you pay for.

4 out of 5 eggsWas great til it died.

Pros: Great lil device, looks great and works(worked) great.

Cons: Only lasted me about 3-4 months until it stopped recognizing my mouse and keyboard. I've had it plugged into my PC the whole time with minimal touching of the hub and it just failed one day...

Other Thoughts: Wish it wouldnt have died so fast.. .other people had theirs for over a year..

2 out of 5 eggsBroke after several months

Pros: Worked fine while it lasted

Cons: Broke after several months of light use. Power cord is only about 18"- why do USB hub manufacturers always insist on this? So frustrating.

2 out of 5 eggsIt works, but only when it works...

Pros: It worked great for about a year. This is a very, small, light usb hub, that comes with a power adapter, which is a plus.

Cons: It only worked for a year. In the past, I've had much better experiences with the longevity of Belkin products.

5 out of 5 eggsVery cheap but good

Pros: The price is low (I got it for 9.99 but the price is still great today).
It gets the job done.
Has been completely reliable so far.
Comes with an AC adapter just in case you have anything power intensive you need to use.

Cons: It seems a bit flimsy so you may want to be gentle with it.
I've had it for 6 months with no problems yet but you may still want to be careful.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because I was worried the new desktop I bought wasn't going to have enough USB ports for my uses. I ended up using this for a completely different reason. My computer would stop recognizing devices that were being used too heavily. As in I would be playing a game and my computer forgets I have a mouse and I can't shoot or turn anymore. I was able to resolve this by using this hub as a mediator. Definitely saved me a lot of aggravation.
I haven't needed to use the external power source yet so I can't speak to that.
I currently am using two of the four slots - one for my mouse and one for my keyboard. It has yet to fail me.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: small, light, looks nice

Cons: cheap junk, broke after several months of gentle use. Solder points inside the device break way too easily.

Other Thoughts: Find something else.

1 out of 5 eggsTry something else

Pros: It's small so its portable. I found the semi-transparent case kind of cool.

Cons: Where do i begin...
- The AC adapter included is only about 18 inches so dont bother trying to put this on a desk or something. Along with how light it is, it wont work out well.
- The actual quality of the hub is shoddy at best. You can feel it rattle inside of the case when moving it from place to place or plugging something into it.
- This thing heats up when using the power adapter. I believe it overheated on me twice (at least that's the only thing i could attribute it to). I had my wireless mouse dongle in my hub overnight, woke up the next morning it was burning up and it evidently burnt out the dongle. So it broke my mouse. Told myself ill fix it when i get home and when i finally do, the hub is broken too. Not only did the hub break, it took my mouse with it.

Other Thoughts: To summarize, please. Don't do it to yourself. There are way better hubs out there. The Rosewill 7 port powered Usb hub is several times better than this and around the same price range. So, do yourself a favor and look for something else. Your wallet and your gadgets will thank you.

2 out of 5 eggs100% hassle

Pros: small, sleek. no bigger than needs to be. includes a/c adapter.

Cons: died after a few days use.

Other Thoughts: frustrated with newegg's handling of rma, bought identical product locally as replacement which has functioned perfectly so far, which at time of review, is about a month.
