1 out of 5 eggsHorrible compatiblity and documentation

Pros: Almost functional

Cons: Documentation varies from website, to product manual to support site. Documentation that came with KVM was for a 4 port model.
Won't support aftermarket mice in many cases if they aren't basic MS mice. Requires MS USB drivers, according to the documentation in the box.
After not using my mouse, my monitor wouldn't get recognized by the KVM. Using the mouse, the mouse would barely move on the screen.

Other Thoughts: If your connecting a Dell desktop and Dell laptop with no aftermarket anything, this may work. If you don't want to waste several hours to find out I suggest you buy a different KVM.

2 out of 5 eggsWeird Issues

Pros: - Does exactly what is listed
- Had no issues for a while

Cons: - After about 6 months I started getting weird matrix lines on my monitor. I thought it was my 30' monitor that was dying, but troubleshot the issue and it turned out to be this device.
- Seems bigger than it should be

Other Thoughts: - I dont like lights, so I put electrical tape over all the lights on the unit. Would be nice to have a switch to toggle the lights on/off
- Would love to see SPID/F support, but I doubt it will ever happen

3 out of 5 eggsexcellent KVM switch

Pros: One of the only KVM switches that supports dual-link DVI for a 2560x1600 monitor. Solidly built, reliable, customizable and sophisticated in its capabilities.

Cons: Specialty item that is expensive, and hard to find at a discount. Ridiculously large size makes it clumsy on the desktop. Difficult to hide away. No mounting holes or eyelets to mount the unit on a wall or the underside of a desk. I had to use my woodshop to make a wooden bracket to mount it under my desk.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace an old IOGear switch because i bought a 30-inch monitor that runs 2560x1600, for switching between laptop and desktop computers. Also switched from VGA to DVI. I Found that this switch would NOT work with my new monitor. Belkin tech support said that it was not compatible and to ask Dell about it, even though their user documentation doesn't say ANYTHING about limitations of monitor compatibility. It turns out that the monitor supports only native resolution (and 1280x800 for emergency troubleshooting only) and this caused the Belkin KVM to silently refuse to display anything. Most LCD monitors will up-scale any signal to native resolution, but not these monster 30-inch monitors. Apparently there is no such controller-chip which does OSD and image scaling for resolutions above 1920x1200. Unfortunately Dell won't say this anywhere, nor will Belkin mention any limitation with these monitors.

4 out of 5 eggs2 years and still going

Pros: Can play audio from 1 pc and video from a different one if needed. Can switch pc's by using keyboard hot keys that user can set up.

Cons: I have to make sure the KVM is on before I power up a pc.

Other Thoughts: I have been really happy with this KVM. I have not had any problems with it really. If and when it breaks I would buy another.

5 out of 5 eggsAre you a good switch, or a bad switch?

Pros: This switch does exactly what it claims, and does it well. Buttons operate smoothly. Very responsive. And, the two extra USB ports are great.

Cons: Seems larger than it should be.

Other Thoughts: This is a very good switch.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Pretty

Cons: Only works with plain vanilla mice and keyboards and it cost me $20 something in restocking fee to find out.

Other Thoughts: Got the ATEN CS1742 2 Port Dual-View KVM Switch to work with my MS programmable keyboard by putting the it on a powered USB hub.
